Seriously, who does stuff like this?

An adult wrestles Alex Avila's home-run ball away from a young woman, then tosses it back onto the field at Fenway Park.

I couldn’t believe what I saw after Alex Avila‘s home run last night. If you were following the game online you no doubt saw it too, as video of it quickly went viral. A fan in the right field stands ripped the home run ball out of the hands of the woman who came up with it and threw it back on the field.

Thankfully, not long after it happened, word started to circulate that the fan was ejected from Fenway. Which, good. He’s lucky that he wasn’t arrested and charged with assault & battery. I mean, there’s no effective difference between him taking the ball from the woman’s hands and throwing it like that than taking her cell phone or something.

But it gets worse! Jeff Passan of Yahoo! spoke to fans in the section where this took place and reports that, before he was ejected, the fan taunted a black Tigers fan sitting nearby all game with racial slurs, including calling him “Trayvon Martin” and ”Prince Fielder‘s crackhead brother.” He also told another black Tigers fan to “go back to the ghetto.” This was confirmed by several fans sitting in that section.

Man, what an utter piece of garbage.

He should be in a cell with that ******* cop. I don't think stadiums really care as long as they
get there 8 dollars a beer. That really adds up quick. The poor vendors make what 8 bucks an hour? 1 beer?
Going to a visitors stadium is tough these days. As a Cardinals fan I have only a few visitor stadiums I would wear
my Cardinals gear to. San Diego, Seattle, Kansas City, any Texas team. For other guys what have you experienced?
Maybe we should make this a separate thread?

Another example of why I don't attend games anymore, and certainly will not attend any with my young children anytime soon. That guy should be banned for attending games for the rest of his life.

This is why I buy my season tickets in the club section. Most of the people are families and you rarely get obnoxious fans.

No wonder attendance sucks...People don't wanna deal with this crap

Attendance is down approximately 333 fans per game over all of baseball. Not exactly a plunge.

Here is historical data that shows a different picture...
