Hey all.

I know this isn't baseball but it seems like the baseball boards are frequented more than other boards so I figured I would post here. I am attempting to sell a cheap(er) laptop on craigslist for around 200 dollars. Someone texted me and offered 200 for it and wanted me to send my paypal address. I asked why we could not meet up to do the exachange and he said this, "I am buying online for my cousin whos schooling in the American University in 23401, and its why I am making the purchase online and will include the postage fee, or never mind if you are nervous."

Does this sound like a scam? I didn't really want to do it through online channels as I don't want to have the option of refunding him. If he pays cash, he can not get a refund. Through paypal hes got a long time before he can no longer open a case. I'm worried that if I sell it online I could ship it out to the person and they could file INAD and replace my laptop with a broken one and say that I sent the broken one.

What would you guys do?

NEVER USE PAYPAL ON CRAIGSLIST!!! EVER!! FOR ANYTHING!!! ALWAYS A SCAM!!! PERIOD!!!
red. bold, italics, underlined, repeat, repeat, repeat.

copied from Craigslist site:

•Do not extend payment to anyone you have not met in person.
•Beware offers involving shipping - deal with locals you can meet in person.

Yeah, sounds awfully scammy. The seller has no protection on paypal anymore. If the buyer wants to chargeback, the buyer can chargeback.

Stupid Africa! Be sure to get your computer checked for ebola. Can't be too careful.
