Advice on Pujols black refractors

I bought these the week Pujols became an Angel. Got the pair for $65. I bought them to flip. I think I should just list them for $.99 as is, but I'm open to ideas. Does SGC stuff sell at all compared to PSA on the new stuff? If not, should I remove them from the case and sell that way?

Cracking or not is an interesting situation because i dont feel that SGC "adds" anything to their value, but that they are "10's" doesnt hurt though.

They will PROBABLY sell better raw, as your target market (set builders) collects them raw.

Very nice cards and I think 65 was a decent price, but heritage has taken a hit the past few years and the prices
that these cards have gotten has come down. I think next season hard core Pujols guys will be looking for his
new issues in an Angels uniform. Of course the topps card will be his first, but the heritage card will be sought after
too. This will kill some of the value of the cards you have. I actually think your best time to sell Pujols would be
now, before the new issues come out.

and I can speak from experience that the grading helps, the black chromes often were OC and those are strong
grades. Of course they would do best in BGS holders, but that is up to you. Good Luck with whatever you decide
to do with them.

I would think that you would get around $150 for the pair. Whoever sold them for $65 took a huge loss. The older black refractors sell a little better than the newer ones. Even though there are roughly the same number of each year, once they get locked up in collections they never really get resold. There have been plenty of 2010 and 2011 Pujols blacks to be had in the past few months, not so many 08's. I would probably pay $40 or so for a 2011 Pujols, and triple that for a 2005. I dont think there is ever really a bad time to sell them - you can probably get about as much now as you can in the Spring. Heritage guys will actually be spending their money on the new product when it comes out. Buyers in the market for those cards are looking for them year round. Might have the best luck with a $125 BIN/BO on the 2008 and a $100 BIN/BO on the 2010.

Well Ok, thank you guys for the advice. What I'm thinking is that I will put a BIN on them for now and if I haven't gotten a decent offer, I will just let them go at auction in the spring.

There is no way I would crack those out of the SGC holders. To get a Gem Mint grade on those cards is quite amazing, and you'll leave $ on the table if you were to try to crack them out.

Second! You could do a crossover to PSA or allow the buyer to cross-over.

You would be looking at much more money if those were in BGS holders. They give away 9.5's like candy at
Halloween.
