Advice on re-slabbing a Griffey auto (from JSA to PSA/DNA)

Hi folks,
A short while ago I won a "1988 Procards" Griffey Jr. auto slabbed by BGS/JSA. Now, first of all, the JSA flip says it's an "Unlicensed Reprint" while the PSA/DNA flip says it's a 1988 Procards issue. I'm thinking either the card I won really is an unlicensed reprint, or the 1988 Procards set is unlicensed itself--and PSA/DNA calls it Procards while BGS/JSA calls it Unlicensed.

Anyway, the BGS/JSA case arrived with chipped corners. I've examined the case closely to make sure this isn't due to the card being switched out with a fake--and the chips are clearly cosmetic defects--damaged in shipping. I'm fine with that because I got a very good deal on the card IMO:

Even if it is an unlicensed reprint, it's still an authentic Griffey auto for under $30 (a nice placeholder until I can get an autographed RC of his to add to my auto RC collection).

Back to my question: If I send this card, in the case, to PSA/DNA, will they crack it out for me? I was thinking of getting it re-slabbed in a PSA/DNA case whenever they have another special (sure, that might not be for a few years, but I can be patient).

After looking around on eBay some more, it looks like BGS does call this a Procards issue if they think it's real--I guess this one really is a reprint, or BGS thinks it is.

If your card has centering like this, then it is a real (licensed) one. If it has better centering, it is a reprint.

Thanks for the info. Mine has bad centering, but it's not centered like the one you showed. What do you think?

Your card is a reprint. The real ones are off-centered on the left & top sides of the card. I collected Griffey for a long time and have never seen a PSA 10, BGS 9.5 or SGC 98. The best I have seen is a PSA 9 OC. Check for PSA, BGS & SGC graded ones on eBay.

If you are looking for a red flip PSA slab, they'll call it an "trade card", if that.
If you are looking for blue flip PSA/DNA slab, they'll call it a reprint card or something similar, unless they are a clueless as I suspect they have become and don't recognize it as a reprint.

My suggestion would be to just send it back into BGS for reholdering. Don't give up hope though, as there are some real ones out there:
