Wow, you all def had blast time today. I noticed Tyson Gillies so quickly. He's a deaf ball player and I collect his stuff in past few years. I have a huge deaf sports collection and Im hoping he's going to have a breaking year and get good name out of his soul. He got so much in him. He was once compared to Griffey's quickness. What's his twitter?

Thanks for sharing, sir-

@tysongillies21

He's not completely deaf... I was able to have a conversation with him both yesterday and last spring and he wasn't completely reading lips. I was eating a cheesesteak and talking @ the same time @ lunch with him. . . :)

Did you apologize for all the mean stuff you said about him after his arrest?

Awesome Jeff! But I must say, I am a little disappointed by the lack of pictures of our beloved Noles! You got the one of "11" talking to the Phillies manager, with Jr. in the background. But that is about it, along with the pic of Sherman Johnson on the scoreboard. FSU is young this year, except for the IF. Top 2 starters are freshman, including Brandon Leibrandt, son of former Atlanta Brave, Charlie. Looks just like him.

Actually, Mike Martin was talking with Mike Schmidt. I thought it was a cool picture - my childhood idol and the long time manager of the Noles (I took a writing about baseball class in FSU - where I actually met my wife - and Martin spoke to us in that 25-30 student class).

I hate to say this, but when it comes to baseball, I am a Phillies phan before everything else. Now, I DID go along with the warchant that was piped into OUR Phillies stadium, and I did do the "Go Seminoles / Fight Team Fight / Scalp 'em!" thing, that was also piped in... but I wore all Phillies stuff. My son was split. He's been a Nole and a Phillie since birth. I've been a Phillies phan since I was 6-7, and a Nole since 17... so my baseball blood runs red, rather than garnet and gold. It's tough, but that's the decision I made.

I never followed FSU baseball that strongly. You know in Tally it comes a distant third to basketball and football... and even though I lived in Salley my freshman year, I probably never went to more than 10 baseball games. I am ashamed. :(

I'll watch them on TV if they're on, and I'll certainly follow them when they get the CWS... but I'm much more of a minor league and major league baseball fan than college. It may just be the "ping".

Now, if the Noles played the Philadelphia Eagles . . . that would be tougher. I may just root for the Noles there.....

I went along with the jokes that were made. I'm not necessarily proud. But I didn't know him at that time, and I didn't have a friend who was a friend of his at that time. Since then, I've gotten to know him through my friend (actually talked to Scott today about Tyson), and I wish him nothing but the best given his both physical difficulties and the difficulties he has endured, undeserving, to his reputation.

Jeff great stuff. Always great to read about and see a father spending a day at the ballpark with his kids.

Idiot.

Looking through the ROlling Phillies thread and I forgot I had this picture. I was at least 50 pounds heavier then... could have had Vance sign that one too.
Ah well. next time.

I know. It is horrible because, despite once again making it to the College World Series, our beloved Noles came home empty-handed yet again. :( Oh, and my Cubs still suck, but at least we appear to have a bright future (offensively), assuming we can actually develop a pitcher.
