What have you done for me lately?

CC Sabathia's last 10 starts 8-2, Greinke 2-4. Yes, I'm impressed with Greinke's ERA, and he started off the season in amazing fashion, but when Sabathia wins his 20th game, Greinke will probably be at #14.

I'm sorry, but there is no way a 14-12 pitcher is getting the nod over a 20-10 pitcher. No chance.

So right now, it's a race between Verlander and Sabathia with Beckett pulling in at #3.

Not challenging you - but did you read my article? Greinke's ERA in starts where he gets a ND or Loss is 3.65 - almost Sabathia's overall ERA. His run support is as bad as it gets. Even in his "cold" streak after his hot start he has been outstanding - just as good if not better than Sabathia.

I think wins are overrated too, but I also realize that there is no way a guy with less than 20 wins gets it over a guy with them. It's just how they vote. Basically because of that it's between CC and Verlander. If Grienke was on either of their teams he probably wins easily.

2008:

Tim Lincecum 18-5
Brandon Webb 22-7

Good point.

However, 18-5 is a whole lot different than 12-8 like Greinke is now. Sadly he's probably going to only end up in the 15 win range. I can't see that getting it done. Personally, like I said, wins are too heavily weighed in the decision because they depend on so much more than the pitcher. It's all just a hangover from the past. If it were normal for pitchers to pitch the entire game, like they once did, then I would be ok with wins having more significance in the CY voting.

I voted other.

Surprised King Felix isn't on the list, as he has put up very comparable numbers to a few people on this list.

BUT, if he doesn't improve over his last start or two, I would say Verlander may be able to wrap it up (Sabathia may get 20 wins, but they will be an UGLY 20).

Oh Canada......
Halladay is my favorite player in the Majors..... But this time I had to go with Justin Verlander! Being close to Detroit I get to see alot of his starts and man o man is he something special to watch.

Leading with K's and ERA by a good margin over Beckett & Sabathia puts his higher on my list then those two..... Yes you can make the arguement that those other 2 play in the AL East.... But you can also make the arguement that they have a better offense behind them! As of late the tigers have been starting to look like the bats are coming back.

Haha... Yeah I forgot to include Greinke in all honesty he is my #2.

Also honestly people should feel bad voting for CC over Verlander.... can you honestly say he's been better? I know he's got the yankee faithful behind him.... but please.... No question he is a welcome addition to the Yanks and has had a good season.

But you must remember the team he has behind him too... Best record in AL... Enough said.

I remember back in July when Halladay had the Cy wrapped up ;)

I remember back in June when Geinke had it on lock down.

One more for King Felix. He has been BANANAs thus far.
