The Alabama Football Program will also vacate 21 wins from the past 3 seasons! In total 15 different Crimson Tide teams are effected by the NCCA Probation. However most notable is the Football program which will be on probation till 2012.

The reason for the latest NCAA investigation ?

...the improper disbursement of textbooks and "failure to adequately monitor" the textbook distribution process for student-athletes.

It's retarded. They said they gained an unfair advantage for student athletes getting books and allowing other people to borrow them? Wtf, the NCAA is stupid and suck balls.

My understanding is that the athletes got books for free in classes they did not take and sold them to people, thus making money by using their status as an athlete. IMO, the punishment is stupid anyways since to Bama fan cares about those wins anyways.

I know at Clemson the athletes get their books for free, but have to get them through the Athletic Department and only for their classes so this was easily preventable.

Taking wins in the past away is like telling somebody that ice cream sundae they had a couple days ago didn't taste good anymore. You still know it actually did.

I wish we were untouchable like USC. Does anyone think that if, say, John Parker Wilson lived in apartment rent-free with a teammate his entire year, he'd be able to make it all better like Matt Leinart did by going back and paying for the entire year's rent after he'd signed an NFL contract? Or do you think the NCAA would turn the other way if Glen Coffee's parents lived in a home an agent bought him?

I don't think that scholarship students get to keep those books. They are supposed to return them for the end of the year.

As an Alabama fan, I am very glad to see the results of the NCAA investigation.

Vacating wins DOS NOT matter to Alabama or to any school.

We did not lose a single football scholarship, and that is what counts.

One of the wins Alabama had to vacate was from 2007 versus Florida State.

Alabama actually lost that game, FSU had to vacate it because of a NCAA ruling.

Now Bama has to vacate that same game. The game now has no winner.

Yep, they have to be returned at the end of the semester so they cannot be passed on or sold by the athlete
