I think that even though they'll never admit it, the Tiggers are VERY happy to let up only one run w/ those batters coming up w/ the bases loaded.

Yanks' bullpen can't afford to let up, lose focus or make silly mistakes to keep this game at one run...

Well, I had hoped the Yanks would take the lead in the 7th. Didn't happen. I am really proud that the team I root for made it in the playoffs this year. I feel that its gonna be the Tigs/Rangers in the ALCS. No way New York beats Detroit here. Valvoline is just too dominant. I just have to figure out who to root for now that the Bombers are out. Hmmm.............

Got to love Jeter there. In a 1 run game, Gardner just about assuredly stealing 2nd-and Jeter flies out on the 1st pitch. Which is good, because if I had to live the rest of my life watching a Jeter HR there, I don't know what I'd do.

Valverde really makes me nervous here. He hasn't closed a ton of 1 run games. This should be very interesting. My vote would be to leave Benoit out there. Valverde usually always walks at least one guy.

If Leyland pulls Fister here, in my opinion it is a huge mistake. I do not trust our bullpen outside of Benoit. That includes Valverde, LOL. :lol:

I'm hoping Scherzer can close this game out. I don't want Valverde in there. After Valverde's comments about the series being over, putting him on the mound would be like throwing red meat to lions.

He is only 50 for 50 in save opporotunities this year.

I suggest watching each of the 50 saves. I have watched almost every single one, and he has been very lucky to not blow a few. It's about the process, not always the result. Giving up the go-ahead or tying runs over and over is very dangerous.

Boy to bad leyland didnt use verlander in this game i would have loved to see him come in in the 7th or 8th to close it out. There was no point in not using him since you need to win today or you go home. Well it all comes down to Jose and as a Tigers fan i am very nervous. Let's hope we see him dancing soon

That may be the first time this year Gardner went on the first pitch. He always waits long in to an AB to go.
