I'd assume part of that is referencing his struggles in the 9th, which meant nothing. When you made the comment that he isn't at his best, it was before his 9th inning when he allowed 3 baserunners to reach.
So, in 6 innings he gave up 5 baserunners, with 5 K. Either you are delusional (by thinking he wasn't at his best), or Nova's season starts are wrong. He had a 3.70 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 165 innings. His start today, before the 9th, was WAY better than his season average. He hasn't lost since June or something, but he's had great run support. Seems like about half of his starts he gave up 3+ runs, so I don't understand how today he was not at his best, or didn't have his best stuff. Sure, he's probably had a few starts where he was slightly better-but he was WELL above his season averages today-again, taking out that 9th inning because your comment was before the 9th.
