I liked both ali and rose but I think the one player set should be over.

Would love to see themes in upcoming releases......cy young winners, batting champs, anything really. Just eight or ten players in a similar set/release.

Leaf base cards are great (imo)

I like this idea as well. Take perhaps each of the last 20 Cy Young winners for a "Pitchers" set.
Take the last 20 ROY winners for a set as well.
Take the last 20 seasonal MVP winners.

20 players per set.
On-card autos of each with variations in the same style as Rose and Ali.

If the last 20 are too hard to get, last 10.
Problem with this: the contracts the players already have with Topps or UD.

Other ideas: HOF set (max 40 players)

I wouldn't mind seeing a set like the Rose set for the Big Hurt. I know there's a ton of his stuff out there but Leaf is doing a great job with these sets and Frank Thomas is a lock for the HOF.

If indeed we're looking outside baseball, the "olypian set" idea is pretty cool with some great atheletes to get autos from.

I'd like a gone before their time kind of thing, athletes and celebs who died early or a gangsters- or notorious personalites- through the years(because I'm loving Boardwalk Empire!). Everyone here agrees on a Musicians Set though, from an earlier thread somewhere.

Tom beat me to it, but Walter Payton would be awesome. It would be nice to see some cuts that weren't those phone cards either, although I know it's difficult to be choosy.

Lombardi Collection is coming out soon....
Barkley has been mentioned, all up to Chuck and how much gambling cash it is gonna take. Maybe BG ran into him in Vegas doing the Rose stuff and layed the groundwork.
Mike Piazza would also probably want way too much.
Not sure if Press Pass is still has KISS license, Leaf could crush with that.
Mcgwire would be big.
Leaf I'm sure is looking at a lot of stuff now. With how Rose and Ali have done so well.

A set with Sadaharu Oh along with the occassional Ichiro shortprinted autograph would kill in Japan and I think US collectors would welcome the opportunity to hit autos of these guys as well. Imagine on-card dual autos of those two guys. Of course, I don't think Oh signs items, period, so this is more of a pipe-dream.

Instead of focusing on one player, do an iconic team set.

For example, the 1985-86 Celtics.

The base set can include a card for all the players and the coach, statistical leaders, top 10 games, playoff games and award winners.
Autograph sets for the living members of the team, cuts of any dead members of the team.
Fans of the team autos.
Patches and game used cards of the players, and if possible another set where the game used pieces were from the actual season depicted in the set.

I would honestly love for a company to make a REAL, extensive, high-end music-related set. With on-card autos, cut-autos, show-used and low-numbered inserts of many of the greats. It has never been done and I think it would be awesome. Imagine a product where you could pull Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Bod Dylan, Elvis, Michael Jackson, newer bands etc autos? That would be amazing. I'm talking a full-on, music-dedicated set, not like Americana or anything. I want a Geddy Lee auto! :P
