First off, Andrew does a great job on his breaks. By no means am I questioning him. I am just wondering how many people in the 1st break actually made there money back? I am in the 2nd break and am worried that if I don't get the Yankees or another top team I will just get a $2 card.

would you say that 10 teams made there money back?

You never know. Even if you get the Yankees there are no gaurantees on who will be pulled.

Hell I got two Musial autos and a Bob Gibson auto and didnt make my money back.

How many teams do you think made there $$ back? I can live with a 5 out of every 30 making there $$ back....But if just 1 team makes their $ back...those are some bad odds.

Like i already stated there is no gaurantees on who or what will be pulled so you could probably have a break where noone gets their money back.

It's a huge gamble.....that's why, even though I'm dying to get in on it, I just can't afford to do it........go figure from someone living in Nevada. But, like they say, if you're born and raised here, you just don't gamble....

Anyway, back on topic....

I did a little figuring with the break last night. There were 72 hits in the case.....one per pack, 4 packs per box, and 18 boxes.

Of the 72 hits....

19 went to one person (granted, he had purchased 3 slots - Mets, Marlins, yankees)....

5 people did not get a single hit.....

17 people in the break got 0, 1, or 2 hits...

With over half the participants getting 0-2 hits, it seems to be to be the ultimate gamble....some will be real happy....Yankees, Giants, Cards, and other will not be so much....

The ultimate feast or famine in my mind....

At $125.00, I can see at least 4 teams in that break that at least got their $ back.

Yankees - About 9 hits with Ruth bat
Mets - About 6 hits with Ryan Auto
Giants - Thorpe jersey and Irvin Auto
Dodgers - Grimes Jumbo

Cardinals had 3 nice Autos but, could've bought those for $75.00 or less.
Bosox, Cubs, Phillies, Red, ChiSox, Orioles and Braves all had a few hits.

Like any box break, if you're not lucky enough to get the team, you're not making out.

Very good post. I was watching the break and everytime he opened a pack I wished I had bought a spot in this break. Then, thinking $125 is a good amount of money for me, and if I hit the Rays or Blue Jays or other team that isn't a high market team like the Yanks/ Giants/ Red Sox, I would pretty much be out $100+. The breaks are great and a big gamble (just like wax), but with the odds, I am going to hang onto my money. In no way am I bashing Andrew, he has been more than gracious in doing these breaks, and if people can afford the breaks and want to gamble, go for it.

But that's the nature of the beast. Just like with gambling, at least 75% of participants are going to get jack squat.

I agree with these:
Yankees - About 9 hits with Ruth bat
Mets - About 6 hits with Ryan Auto
Giants - Thorpe jersey and Irvin Auto
Dodgers - Grimes Jumbo

Cubs may come close as well depending on what the Billy Williams Patch/auto ends up bringing.

remember the 3100 case price is based mostly on the ruth jumbo.
take that out and its a 1500-2000 case. so your paying 125 per team
basically in hopes of getting the yanks and a shot at the ruth.
the cardinals winner is a perfect example, without a ruth in the product,
hes the big winner, with it, he loses money with 3 beautiful cards.

The product does feature some really nice 1/1s, Hank Aaron autos and some very rare Clementes.

I guess the better question to ask would be. For the people who didn't even come close to making their money back, or no hits at all. Do they regret doing it, or would they do it again?

For the teams the have been around for a while, I wonder for the futures break of this product, if it would be a good idea to break them out a little further.

For example for the Yankees, you could have 1 slot for "Yankees retired by 1990", and another slot "Yankees retired after 1990". Obviously active players would fall under the "after 1990" category

This would allow for a few more spots, and would lower the cost per spot some what.

You probably could do the same for the Dodgers, Cardinal, Red Sox and other teams.

Might be a stupid idea, but thought I would throw it out there.

You can't always expect your money back with a regular box break, much less a group box break.

i also like the idea, hell make it 60, 70, 80 slots.
might be a pain for andrew, but there are tons of
ways you could do these case breaks to mix it up some
