How can you blame the Cards for not mentioning McGwire? They aren't trying to hide anything, they have a freakin' section in the stadium called Big Mac land. Sure McDonald's paid them to do that, but if they were trying to pretend that '98 didn't happen do you think it would still be there?

I didn't go through every page of this, so if I'm repeating sorry.

I'm disappointed.

The pregame garbage took longer than the game. Eff all that crap.

And I think Bush just called Obama to inform him where home plate is located. Next time he should throw over it and not in front of it.

CC as MVP is weird. It wasn't THAT great of a catch.

McGwire was not bad, but rather great for baseball! About half of the fans that watch now are because of McGwire! McGwire was great for the game, and should be in the HOF!

I agree, eff all that crap.

Obama claimed to have done a bunch of warmups too, kinda disappointed. Oh well, the conspiracy was good while it lasted (awful camera angle)

If you noticed in his interview he also mentioned he never played any organized baseball growing up as a kid. Still not much excuse for such a wimpy throw though.

i understand Pujols is the man in St. Louis. No Doubt. But i don't care what anyone says, the hype about Pujols does not come close to the buzz that surrounded St. Louis in 1998. It was the epicenter of baseball and sportscenter. I was 15 in 1998. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was one of the biggest national event/ World Coverage story in the last 30 years. To not even have 1 mention of McGwire's name, as They still keep "Big Mac Land" in Left field is a farce. Jeremy, take your grimmus avatar and go jump off a building.

This celebration was almost as laughable as The Yankees Not mentioning Joe Torre during the final game last year. Absolute garbage.

Figgins hauls his ass down to St. Louis after getting a call at 9 AM PST this morning that he has been chosen to replace Longoria. So he flies from LA and gets their right before game time, and he doesn't even get in the game. Thats F'n ridiculous.

Young was already in the game, he just replaced him as starter.

Young replaced Longoria as the starter, Figgins replaced Longoria on the team.

This story describes Figgins' day.

i am not arguing pujols' talent against mcgwire. Pujols is better. All i am saying is that Pujols did not generate WORLD wide media coverage like mcgwire did. Pujols did not bring media from all reaches of the country. McGwire did. To celebrate St. Louis cardinals baseballl history and not have 1 highlight of #62 is a crock.
