I've really just had a chance to sit down from the All Star week. Between attending Fanfest and the Games, volunteering at Fanfest, the 5K, and my regular job, it was a pretty non stop week for me. It went really fast, but outside of the rain delay in the Futures Game, it couldn't have gone any better (less Pujols/NL wins). Anyways, here's a recap of all the card related stuff.

Fanfest
Card wise, this was a pretty weak Fanfest. I hadn't been since 2005, but it used to be a much bigger show. There were only 2-3 dealers with wax and only one dealer with any nice modern cards. Most dealers were selling autographed balls, Cardinal base cards, and other really random stuff. This was pretty disappointing. The highlight for me was that the one guy who had anything had some really nice Pujols stuff including a 2001 Studio Patch/AU #'d /25.

Upper Deck
Upper Deck's booth had a wrapper redemption program offering a pack of four different cards each day of fanfest. In addition, there were randomly inserted Cardinals painting cards numbered to 500 included in the packs. Somehow I was able to pull three of these. The set is pretty nice and has a good mix of current and past Cardinals/All Stars.

Topps
Topps had a slightly different program. They offered five Cardinals cards every day, so the print runs on the Topps cards are much higher. To obtain the set, one had to open 15 packs.

In addition, you could open a box of a Topps product and pick either an Ichiro or Ryan Howard Manufactured patch card. The Topps rep told me there are 1000 of each. Two boxes of AG got me:

Finally, the hottest card was the Pujols manufactured patch. Topps played this one well as you had to buy a special edition of the 2009 Factory Set to get it. They sold out by Sunday afternoon. The Topps rep told me that there are 800 of the Pujols patch cards and roughly the same amount of the set. The set contains a special 5 pack of Cardinals cards.

Futures Game
I didn't wait out the rain delay, giving it three hours and then wrongly assuming there was no way they'd play. Stanton put on a show during BP and almost killed a Busch employee who decided to try to get a hat or something that had fallen on top of the LF wall during Stanton's BP. Most of the players signed a decent amount of autos, pretty much only some of the pitchers and starting catchers did not sign. Here's my haul:

The neatest thing I saw all week though were Josh Hamilton and Derek Jeter. Hamilton must have signed for close to 30 minutes before the Game on Tuesday, and Jeter signed for about 15 before the game and then between innings from the dugout. Both are great ambassadors for the game and living in a National League city, this was the first time I experienced this first hand. I wish I had brought stuff to get signed, but with Obama coming, security was real tight and I wanted to bring as little in with me as possible.

Also, this guy was at Fanfest on Tuesday.

BTW, looks like you had a great time!

I share your sentiments on the FanFest, it was pretty weak in regards to cards. If you were looking for some high priced memorabilia that was the place to be! If you have any extras of the Friday and Sunday Upper Deck cards let me know, I would love to complete the entire set. I also got the Ichiro and Howard and I am really kicking myself for not paying the $50 for the factory set.

Nice haul! If you ever try getting chrome cards signed again, put baby powder on them. Also try to get a lumocolor marker made by staedtler. These are the best for chrome cards. Good stuff!

I will have to post pics of the Vitters ball he signed for me.
It doesn't look anything like the ones I've seen.
