Am I the last person still buying cases of '09 EEE?

At current prices, I couldn't resist picking up a few more cases of 2009 Elite - I locked in on four more today.

Maybe it's just me but EEE cases for $1350 or less seem like a good buy to me.

So, is anyone else still buying EEE cases, planning to sometime at around current prices, anticipating a further price drop and waiting for that or are you just done with it / don't like it?

Honestly, I think the fact that a large % of the autos sell for $4 or less turns people off. Just like it did last year.

I like the product and considered doing a case myself, but am just not sure due to the reason above.

A handful of very good sleepers are in the set. So, I think buying singles is the way to go and if you are "case-breaking"...GOOD LUCK!

I agree with this - there are some great single buys. Seems like some of those guys have dried up a bit.

I feel that there is a high probability that within two seasons, you would have a profit off of a three case break especially depending on how good your eye is for slabbing.

Then again, maybe I am way off on this but time will tell.

I think as soon as B W/C comes out EEE cases will crash.

Oh man, I hope so - if that happens, I'll definitely be buying more.

Then why rip them right away? Wouldn't that be dumb also? What's the point of ripping then??? I guess with your thought process, anyone ripping is dumb since you can't sell them.

Really? Think about it for a second....

We all know busting product is a huge gamble and thats half the fun of it for most people. And of course people are busting hoping to pull a big card or two so it can flipped it right away while prices are high. But those who didnt hit anything big who are selling off their breaks knowing full well they are going to take a big loss are just plain dumb. If they needed the money that bad then maybe the case shouldnt have been purchased in the first place. I would much rather take my chances of holding onto 50 $1 cards hoping some turn into $5 or $10 cards than just taking the quick $50 and losing money.

The immediate money is not really there to be made like it used to be in busting prospect products and people busting this stuff just need to understand that.

I agree with Moxcaine's general premise - I believe that in order to make money on this, most of the time it is going to be most advantageous to the seller to immediately sell off the "hotter", higher selling stuff and then over the course of time, to sell off others as they get hot. I'm also selling off the base and base inserts now and I've been getting more for those than I initially thought I would (getting an average of $40 per 10 count lot of sets).

We'll know in about two years how this all works out - I'll have all of my sales recorded and know what my ROI was, on what as of now, will be seven cases but depending on price fluctuations, I may still do several more.

Actually we do not know this is gonna work with elite but there are a ton of signs that it wont be good.

Hey Mox, the longer you hold onto the lower end cards, waiting for some to strike gold you will surely lose out in the process. Best bet is to always rip thru those cases and list the most you can as early as you can after that it is not gonna be as easy as you think. Many of the lower end autos with virtually no chance of getting hot will go to team collectors and rc buyers you dont know any better.
