It's the company credit union, but that's how things are in small town Kansas.

Huh? 25 miles to a bank. LOL!!! Steve, WTF - time to move!

Actually, 25 miles shouldn't even matter... Many banks have mobile apps. Mine even allows me to take a camera pic of the check and deposit it through the mobile app. One of the greatest inventions ever ~ I used to hate going to the bank to cash a check.

As for OP post, I wouldn't ship either until I was 100% certain the funds cleared my bank, and that can vary by institution and have absolutely nothing to do with your bank. Too many red flags with your request, but yes, I get it. I too am very impatient and want stuff faster than is reasonable to ask. I try to refrain from driving people nuts on buys, but there are times you are just so excited to get a purchase that unreasonable requests tend to seem reasonable.

I do see your concern with paypal and protection and the hassle. That is why CC through PP is always a great option! The CC company will always have your back (at least they have for me).

I didn't read this thread beyond the OP, but one other option as a buyer is to pay with your credit card through paypal so you're protected by both paypal and your CC company.

If money is in my account as a seller, I am shipping the card within 24 hours and usually sooner. If I have to wait for a MO/Check/cashier's check to clear, it leaves a lot more room for procrastination on shipping.

Perhaps paypal would be a better way to get your stuff quicker, and the method above would still give you full protection. It's worth noting that PP sides with the buyer almost without fail unless the seller can prove with absolute certainty that the card made it to the buyer.

Just from my point of view if I was the seller I would honestly be worried about being scammed. The red flags are that you want to pay by check, which is non standard and out of my comfort zone, you want me to mail the card before I'm fully satisfied the funds are cleared and your sending me extra money for things I should pay for the insurance and the quick delivery kind of like its Monopoly money. Now I know you are not scamming anyone but due to all the scammers and scumbags out there that social trust has been broken and I would look at this transaction from a very skeptical view, my fear of loss would be very high and I would feel like I was missing something. So this might cause me to delay shipping until I was reasonably sure I wasn't going to get scammed on a chargeback. I would however explain this to you and say this is when it will ship and this is the reason why but I also can understand that people might not want to say that out of fear of losing future purchases from you. Hope this helps

Mike
