One of my favorite card memories was in 1991(?). Every Thanksgiving weekend I'd drag my dad to the card show in Portland, OR. He was a really good sport and let me take my time. One year I bought a box of 1991 Action Packed Rookie Update and we opened it together in the car. We pulled a Herman Moore 24K gold. I was stunned because I'm not sure those were announced on the packs and I wasn't sure what it was. Not worth anything now, but it started my Herman Moore collection that I still have, and Herman helped me to my first fantasy football championship!

In general, though, I never really liked much Action Packed - not enough bling for my tastes :ugeek:

Did I hear Action Packed 24K Gold mentioned? Those were the thing when I first started collecting! My buddy used to open up pack after pack and box after box to get one of those. I think he ended up hitting 1 or 2 - some Eagles player (maybe Jerome Brown?). Anyway, here are 2 I happened to pick up over the years

Here is a 1994 Score Gold Zone Redemption that I sent in to Score and then subbed to PSA.

I remember how disappointed I was back in 94 when I thought that the redemption card numbers corresponded to where they were drafted. So when I had two #2s I was so pumped to have two Faulks. Then it turns out he was #3 I was crushed. I had to pay $20 for a #3.

One thing is certain, those redemptions I got from Score were incredible. Edges and corners sharp as I've seen. I think I had about 7-8 of them redeemed. Good times.

And his stuff sure is dirt cheap. I'm not a big collector of his stuff - haven't been for awhile. But his rarest stuff is so cheap that I can't help myself sometimes. He and/or Barry seemed to always put on a show for Thanksgiving.
