I know it may be hard for some of us to basically throw away money like this, between the cost of cards and sending the package. But this is one of those instances where an impact will only be achieved through sheer volume. So, if you don't like MLB deciding who is a rookie and when, that you can't have any more Sweet Spot Pujols autos, hell, even that Absolute Jumbo Jersey cards aren't really what you should collect, I think that this is a fine way to show it.

Whether you support Upper Deck or not, this really is about US, the collecting community, and our freedom and ability to know and choose what to collect. Personally, I am pissed off with the amount of interference MLB has injected into our hobby for the past five years and will have a box sent off on Monday. I hope my gift is accompanied by many more:

Nothing at all, just love collecting and like a variety of licensed product to choose from. And if an unlicensed product fits my taste, I hate seeing them denied also. Nothing wrong with Topps, Upper Deck or Pannini.

profanity... while fun for me to use around other peoples children, nuns, old people, and prospective customers is not a way to get the point taken. swearing will get your point ignored and the poster thrown away. also sending the cards in actually says they are worthless. if you have ud cards to send to mlb just give them to a local childrens hospital they will do soooo much more. on top of all that mlb doesnt give two ***** about the fan. they care about their owners, players, sponsors, and thats about it.

Seriously, how often are you around nuns? I would recommed blowing off the top half of the poster from the link, maybe the whole print - instead include a self written letter - but I disagree that the cards sent would show that they are worthless. It would show that you bought them and knew what you were buying - and liked them so much that you felt like sharing. Hospitals, baseball camps and instructional schools, scouts and day cares are all great places to donate cards, but, obviously, this isn't a donation. Just an attempt to be a gnat on the elephant's ass. And, seriously, don't come around my child.

It would be funnier if to send Topps cards with a note saying "here's an answer to your monopoly, bitch. We don't want this garbage."

Isnt there a 70 lb flat shipping fee with usps? I'm sure I can find 67 lbs of 89-90 Topps commons and top it off with a few pounds of dog feces from my back yard. Two birds, one stone

USPS Large Flat Rate box - $13.95 printed online
Medium Flat Rate box - $10.20 printed online
Both with 70 lb max

Topps US
One Whitehall Street
New York, NY 10004

Instead of the dog feeces, I'd suggest a ************ Mickey Mouse.

No, but there's a lot wrong with a monopoly.

didnt seem to matter from 1952 to 1980

+1

Seriously people, Upper ******* Deck is a POS company. There have been sooooooo many threads bitching about their customer service, their ****** redemptions, on and ******* on. There is nothing wrong with Topps being the only player in the game right now. When and if they **** **** up, then come back and bitch, until then, it is worthless.

Absolutely zero innovation outside of design tweeks.

Nothing wrong with base topps.

Yeah comparing the current card industry to that of the 50's-80's is genius. Like comparing apples to handguns.

I love OLDER topps, I have ever set from 55-74, but it is not my job to decide what other collectors should collect.

Seriously people, Upper fracking Deck is a POS company. There have been sooooooo many threads bitching about their customer service, their shatty redemptions, on and fracking on. Yeah, waiting over 12 months for Topps redemptions is TOP NOTCH SERVICE!! Before pointing out the flaws of other companies, start looking at the flaws of the company your adamantly defending because Topps is far from perfect and will now have no incentive to strive for perfection.

thats right, its your job to decide what YOU collect.

the current card industry is filled with 30+ year olds and kids that dont care about anything but how much a card is worth.
that right there is ****** up.

Just because UD ****** up, doesnt mean YOU should no longer collect.

i liked Pepsi Clear. i dont bitch that they dont make it anymore

Uhh. Read Card Sharks or a history book. It did matter to Bowman, Fleer, TCMA, etc who all sued Topps because of their monopoly. Also look up Art Shorin, who is on the same level as Kevin Burge in terms of hobby scumbaggedness

and in the end Topps is still standing alone at the top of the hill.

If you have any 2010 UD cards to send, I will pay the postage.
