Doesn’t bother me at all. I’d rather prefer that than packing tape or scotch tape. A sideways Post It would probably suffice too. Never had an issue with painters tape residue.
If I’ve ever had to use scotch tapeI have folded a piece of paper and put it over the opening and then put a small amount of scotch tape on the front and back of the top loader that will be very easy to peel off like it was never there if someone just takes the two seconds to do it. But I’d never put the scotch tape over the opening. That’s atrocious.
