Not really dead, but damn close after that KO!

I have been a fan of Machida for the past 5 years and am really glad to see him on top.

It was pretty ferocious, no doubt.

Rashad just couldn't get into a groove, and just looked "off"...all because of a Machida.

Oh my dude, I was going nuts. I have been talking Machida up so much these last few months, and to see what he did last night was amazing! Still hasnt ever lost a round in the UFC. I ended up off the couch in the floor with my hands over my head celebrating before Rashad even hit the canvas. What a great job by Machida. Next up Rampage, and he will beat him too. Everyone expected a stick and move for a decision victory, and boy did Machida prove all those people wrong. I am still elated over this. I AM impressed with that performance.

And screw Matt Hughes. Serra won that 1st round. For as much crap that was talked before the match, it was pretty disappointing. Hughes didnt want any part of standing and banging with Serra, then spent the next 2 rounds blanketing Serra. Serra didnt look like he minded being on his back at all. Thought Serra had him finished in the 1st, then I had massive Frank Trigg flashbacks when Hughes had his back. But Serra did a GREAT job getting out of that.

Wonder why none of the Machida haters have posted?

This will probably mark a pretty long Liddell-esque title reign. I don't really see anyone that I think can beat Machida at 205. ~Maybe~ Shogun if he gets back into form, or possibly if Anderson Silva decides to go for the LHW title.

Hopefully Machida can finally get the respect he DESERVES. That was a vicious ass whoopin. I don't see anyone beating him any time soon. Thiago was agressive and he was dealt an ass kicking. Rashaad tried to stay away and he we all saw what happened. It looks like no matter what happens you're in for it with Machida. It will be very interesting to see if he fights Silva being such close friends and all.

Hughes vs Serra. Complete 100% BS. Serra clearly won the first Hughes clearly one the Second. The blocked takedown and following slam by Serra plus all the submission attempts should have given him the third.

Even if Hughes DID win that fight, there's no effing way it was unanimous.

Hughes is such a *****.

And Sean Sherk is an idiot.

The Most Dominate Welterweight "*****" in UFC History. Get it straight.

Don't understand why you claim that?

Because as much **** as he talked before the fight, for years (Serra too!) he sure didn't really want any part of Serra. He wouldn't stand and bang with him because he knew he'd get KO'd, and then he just blanketed Serra as much as he could. Serra impressed me with all his sub attempts, and when Hughes had his back. He never stopped throwing punches from the back, and eventually got out of it.

If Hughes was the man he claimed to be leading up to this, he would have actually FOUGHT Serra and not just employeed his LNP tactics.

I know, this is the point where you ask me if I know how the fights are scored and such. But it was a boring ass fight for the most part, SHOULD NOT have won Fight of the Night award. And it was boring because of Hughes, not Serra. Serra impressed me much more than Hughes overall in the fight, and it's not just because I hate Hughes.

Like I said before though, I thought Serra had him finished in the first, then I thought Hughes was going to finish him with the RNC later on. But Serra impressed me more than Hughes.

Exactly. The Edgar Sherk fight was 100 times more interesting than this fight. I loved watching Edgar just pick apart that POS.

I don't have strong feelings for either of them, but you have to admit that Hughes take downs were the difference in the fight. If Serra had any sort of take down defense at all Hughes would have had to stand and fight. It would have looked more like the last Anderson Silva fight. Silva wouldn't allow himself to be taken down. That's what Serra was missing.
