This entire Rice story is overwhelming. It's on everything.
I think you're right. It seemed pretty improbable that they hadn't seen the video, so this really confirms that they were just trying to cover this up.

Yeah..the whole thing is stupid. They basically knew what had happened, gave him a light suspension, and then when the video went public, they felt they had to do more. Should have just given him the whole kit and kaboodle to begin with. This is ridiculous!

I haven't seen anything that directly ties Goodell to a "cover up". I'm a Browns fan that wants Gordon back this season and hope this scandal facilitates that process.

The news is really all over the place. I think a few at NFL front offices swathe video. Maybe some kind of cover up. The league has gotten so full of thugs and criminals its amazing.
