I'd probably pay slightly more for it raw.

Plus, wasn't there some article that came out about how the plastic casing used for grading cards can damage the ink over time or something? If I'm going to ruin the ink from my card over time, at least let it have a shiny gold 9.5 label! Not a sucky silver label.

Ok splitting hairs but that card is o/c left to right which is a shame for a card of that stature. How did BGS give that a 9.5 centering? If they were going to fudge some on the grade because of the hobby significance of that card you would at least think they would bump something less obvious like surface or edges.

It can technically be 55/45 or better one way on centering, on front, they claim, so long as it's 50/50 the other way. Doesn't much matter though. As far as I can tell, it meets that criteria L-R, but it's not exactly 50-50 T-B, so you are right, it should have gotten a 9 on centering. I guess they figured it was close enough. It may look slightly different in person also.

It's pretty much the most significant modern day rookie card in existence (modern in this case defined as the Bowman Chrome era).

In his 5th full season now, he's played like an inner-circle HOF (look at the closest comps below), and has been a perfect face of baseball. If it was Griffey, what would it be worth...

Had not realized that a red went that high. 100K then is definitely not crazy.

that said , i was telling someone last week that based on the red going for 52k , i could see this one anywhere from 50k to 100k should the owner decide to accept an offer...now if this one was a 9.5 , i'd amend my estimate to 100-200k...

I can't see it going for any less than $100k. It's a 1/1 so I don't see the grade making any difference at all.

This card being a 10, 9.5, 9 it makes no difference. Your not going to find another one. I can understand that if the card was bent in half it would affect the price. A legitimate buyer of this card could care less if it's a 9 or a 9.5.

i didnt really mean that the 9 would bring this one DOWN.....moreso that the 9.5 brought the red UP to the 52k level....

Was talking to a friend of mine about this last night. I don't track the super high end chromes like this, but my gut instinct was that this will sell at $75k if it sells.
