The Denver Broncos. MY GOD do I feel genuinely sorry for Broncos fans this season and the forseeable future. ::facepalm::

No need to get into the ever present Cutler fallout, and current Brandon Marshall fiasco..

"Wearing a hoodie like his mentor, Bill Belichick, McDaniels was flustered by an ineffective offense that committed multiple mistakes and plenty of penalties — 10 for 86 yards—and a defense that again couldn’t force a turnover. Denver is minus-8 in takeaways in the preseason.

And now he’s missing four playmakers on offense—Orton, Marshall, receiver Jabar Gaffney(notes) (broken thumb in practice Friday) and top draft pick Knowshon Moreno(notes) (knee)—plus right guard Chris Kuper(notes), who appeared to break his right ankle in the first quarter."

Check that, this Bronco team might just make last years Lions look good. Even if they did go 0-16...

This just in...San Diego wins AFC West with any record better than 6-10.

That's the team i was thinking about once i saw the thread. McDaniels just set the team back a decade trading Cutler away.

Yeah they sure looked awful. Trading their future away was a huge mistake and they will realize that when they get crushed week in and week out. I think Kansas City will be at the bottom with them.

I still can't understand how Josh McDaniels even landed this job - what are his qualifications? His dad's reputation as a HS coach? His time with the Pats? How are his players supposed to respond to him in practice (much less a game), when he's never walked in their shoes? Would you want to be yelled at by a guy who's 33 and has never played a day in the NFL?

Not to mention, his first move as coach is to piss off their franchise quarterback? I don't get it. If I were a Broncos fan, I'd want this guy run out of town asap. He looked like deer in headlights last night.

I LOVE IT!!!!!! The Broncos were retarded for trading their franchise QB to Chicago for a guy who had trouble beating out REX GROSSMAN for the starting spot!!!!!

Hey Orton, Willy Wonka called, he said he wants his candy arm back!!!

couldn't agree more, Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, Tony Sch. and Moreno should have been a nice offense

I'll go with the Chiefs. The "star" QB is already hurt, they traded away their best player, and they already "removed" their offensive co-ordinator. YIKES!

They wouldn't have gotten Moreno had it not been for the Cutler trade, but their offense would still be better than it is now had they kept Cutler.

I've kind of rode the fence on this one.

Personally if I was a Broncos player I'd be thinking WTF! and honestly I don't think the organization is heading in the right direction. Yet at the same time, they were not a playoff team last year, and I'm sure the thought process was - has Cutler never been a winner and made a bunch of mistakes due to those around him, or will he always be that type of player. Like I said I would have not traded him, but the other side of me says maybe McDaniels has a plan, or at the very least he's attempting to build the type of team he wants....which there is nothing wrong with that.

At this point I think it'd probably take about 3 years to know if the guy is right or insane and incapable of running the team, but I agree this year will most likely end up a train-wreck, so you have to question if he'll even be given enough time to be able to justify these moves.

wait a second "2008 Lions" award. This is most offensive. Us Lions fans are a proud people and are glad the Lions were at least able to get a record.

Yes, it's a resurrection of an old thread. I was looking for something in my old posts, and stumbled on this.

Isn't it fun to look at some of our preseason predictions, and see how they fared. So much for everyone who was dissing McDaniels, the Broncos, or Kyle Orton (or any combination of them).

As of now, I think the award goes to the Bills. Yes, the Browns and Raiders are right there, but I'm looking at it this way - the Bills actually have talent. And they lost to the Browns. They've got offensive playmakers. And they lost to the Browns. They should have a guy with over 1,000 yards receiving easily with owens. And they lost to the Browns.

I think the Rams are probably this years Lions with the Raiders a close second. As a Ram fan I actually want them to lose and get the top draft pick. But they will probably be dumb and pick another lineman instead of a QB. Oh well at least they are a sure thing to bet against!
