After looking at the Twinsfest roster I'm starting to agree. This is a pretty poor team as it stands now. Still the novelty of the new stadium will keep quite a few people in the seats.

I liked when Terry Ryan was our GM before and while I don't necessarily like all of the moves we've made so far (letting Cuddyer AND Kubel go, not adding any pitching, etc.) I will wait until the season unfolds until I argue with what he's doing. I trust that he will make the team better after Bill Smith screwed things up. Not Terry Ryan, this is all due to Bill Smith. As it looks right now our outfield will be Revere/Span/Willingham and I can see us picking up some kind of starter (Pineiro, Francis) or on an optimistic side someone like Edwin Jackson. IMO we need to stop with all of the soft strike-throwing starters that our team seems to love and add some arms like Jackson. The Twins have always stressed control pitchers but as we all saw too much last year, it doesn't matter if you can throw a strike if you can't get it by the hitter and they hit it 400+ feet.

Had a nice little Twins mail week(s). I'm still expecting a few more items, but I couldn't wait to get these posted on here. It includes my first Kirby Puckett and Tony Oliva GUs plus my first patch for my PC,! Which my PC consists of Mauer, Span, and retired Twins players

I also got my first 2002 Bowman Chrome of Span, don't ask why its taken so long to get one of these

Twins related - some time after the Metrodome collapsed, I contacted the HHH front office and they sent me some free 5x5 cut tiles of the Teflon coated fiberglass roof that had been scrapped. As a Frank Thomas collector, the Metrodome is a huge landmark for me because Big Frank not only hit his 500th HR there, but also his very 1st Major League HR as well.

Frank has been doing free signings around Chicago to promote his new venture, Big Hurt Beer, and I was fortunate enough to find a collector willing to have a piece of the roof signed for me. Frank has been very accommodating to the fans, signing multiple items, even every can of entire cases of beer when requested, including inscriptions. My hope was that Frank would notate his 2 achievements on the tile for me.

When presented the tile, Frank had no clue what it was, but when it was explained and my inscription request was made, he laughed and apparently seemed genuinely excited about the piece. Here's the outcome...amazing for an absolutely free signing!

Very nice addition to the Thomas collection. So how's the beer taste?

Thank you sir. I haven't tried it yet because I only have one can, and it's signed and I don't want to open it. When I acquire another, I'll let you know.

I've heard mixed reviews; 6.9%, so stout from what I hear. Some have said very full bodied, but only when served at 45* or better. Tastes like cheap beer (which it is) I hear when warm...but a lot of beers do. All in all, high alcohol content, decent body, clean flavor for the price is what I'm taking away from it.

Very nice! That certainly is a unique piece to add to your collection. Also love the Span Patch Auto clarkzac.

Hey thanks! I've been jealous of your Span collection for quite awhile lol. I was able to get the Span auto patch from GoldenBuckeyes. I probably gave him too much for it, but I've been after one since May and I haven't seen them on ebay, but when I did see them on there I was always gone when bidding ended

I'm surprised that he moved that, he always seemed reluctant to moving any of his Span stuff. The only one that I have actually even seen on eBay is the one that I won. There was 1 other but it was a BIN and it was hit before I even saw it. Very nice either way! I actually still need the regular Jersey/Auto.

He was reluctant to move it, but I traded him some other Twins plus some paypal for it. He had 2 of them. Would you mind me asking how much you paid for yours? I have a chance at the regular jersey/auto along with a 2007 Bowman signs of the future autograph. I only have 6 Span autos right now :( I really want to get a 2009 Ginter Span auto

Got mine for $18 about a year ago on eBay which I thought was a pretty decent deal. The 07 Bowman Signs of the Future Auto is the only one of those that I still need. I have the other 2.

Ha me too! The 6 Span autos I currently have are 2009 SPx Patch/auto, 2009 T206 auto, 2010 National Chicle auto, 2009 Ballpark Collection Jersey/auto, and then the 2 Signs of the Future autos
