Nice to see Nishioka officially gone. He didn't do anything for the team, but I've got respect for him to give up his salary next season in order to try and get his career back in Japan. There's another $3-4 million the Twins have to spend in the offseason.

Yeah, glad I didn't ever buy a single Nishi card. I remember making a nice offer on chrome parallel bgs 9.5 of his. Got turned down. Never did buy a redemption auto, that Topps never got him to sign anyways. Those were going for big money. Was waiting till live ones hit Ebay. What a waste of over 11 million dollars he cost the Twins. At least we got out under last 3 mil. His Japan team that got over 5 million for letting him out of his contract has to be laughing.
Still doesn't Nishi go down as one of the Twins toughest autos to get. No cert autos, never heard of him signing through mail and wasn't he tough in person? Did he do any local signings. Anybody here ever get him on anything. Auto should still have some value in that he was a star in Japan and one of, if not the biggest bust in Twins history.

I had bought a Topps Chrome Red Refractor /25 for like $6 and ended up selling it for $13, but that was about it that I had for him besides Base. Even though I don't like him, I would have liked to get him on an A&G card or some kind of autograph but oh well.

that is a sweet Nishi auto you have MC. About as good as it gets for him, considering he has no cert auto cards.

Was really hoping that Mastroianni would be in Topps Update.

At least there are two PC cards for me to chase in there. (they will be the third and fourth for the year for my PC)

The Jim Craig was from the FanHQ signing yesterday.
My 1980 Gold Medal collection is slowly growing.
