Historically the pohlad's don't like to spend money. They do on ocassion, but they don't like to. I can see us over trading a little for some guys, but I guess I'm all for what we need to do to get pitching. It'd be nice to get someone who has proven they are consistent year in and year out as opposed to someone with huge upside. It'd be nice w/ the upside, but more often then not it doesn't work out for us.

I would love for us to either make a move to try and get Josh Johnson or sign someone like Edwin Jackson.

Getting JJ would make somebody on these boards a happy camper since he'd get to see him pitch lol

I'd move to White Bear Lake just to watch JJ pitch every fifth day or whenever he was starting in MN. Trading Revere (which would cover a huge need for FLA, in CF) and Travis Harrison (3B prospect) for JJ and maybe Nolasco (if MN threw something mid tier in) would tickle me pink. Never gonna happen though :(

We can dream! I don't dislike Revere, but if we were to move him that would most likely mean we keep Span so I would definitely prefer that.

I'd rather see Span too but I'd really like to see them both in the out field move willingham to right and put revere in center and span in left

Travis Harrison does not have Sano Power, he will have no value until he can field a defined position.

I love span too, but aside from the arm, revere would be more valuable to us long term imo.

I still would go with Span, but I can see people making the point either way because it would be a very close call.

Span doesn't make the exciting diving plays, but he covers just as much ground and is a really good defensive CF.
Span doesn't steal as many bases as Revere, but he gets more extra base hits to make up for that loss.
Span has been with us longer so he has more of a long-term fan base, but Revere has excited the fans with his speed the past 2 years.
Span is more expensive than Revere, but he is still pretty cheap considering his value.

As you can see they both has their positives and negatives, so I guess what pushes me over the top to go with Span is just my personal preference :)

Age - Revere 24, Span 28
Free Agent Year - Revere 2018, Span 2015
Contract - Revere Pre-Arb Eligible (2012 was 493k), Span 2013- 4.75 Mil, 2014- 6.5 Mil, 2015- 9 Mil Team Option
Not going to get into stats cause people look at them differently, but to me Revere has the edge over Span right now

With the above, that is the Twins recipe for success, stay young and cost effective. That is why I believe they will try and move Span in the off season and not Revere.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with that. I know that the Twins want to move him before Revere, I just prefer to keep Span and think they are pretty close in value. That is one reason I posted the one rumor before, I found it interesting that they mentioned Revere as a trade target and not Span.

I think Tgutta and I have a little bit of a bias towards Span  But I can see why the Twins would trade Span over Revere. For how unknown Span is he sure is a hot commodity(sp?) in the trade market

He may relatively unknown outside of the upper midwest press wise, but be sure that every organization knows what he's capable of. Speed, .300 BA, score some runs, and great defensive outfielder.

Who ever said he has Sano power? Not many people do, that's why he is a top prospect.
What I am trying to get at is that Harrison will be under a much different grading scale because he does not have the same power as Sano. Defense becomes a much bigger factor now, because if he does not have a defined position in the filed. Sano has amazing power, which is why you can overlook his defense, saying the defense will come. With Harrison, he hits for Average but has no set position yet.
