I think the 62 style heritage looks pretty sweet. I haven't bought wax in a while, but that looks like it might be a fun break.

A couple nice additions from some FCBers!

2007 Elements Glen Perkins/550. For some reason, I have never located this card, so it's great to have one!

2007 Co-Signers Glen Perkins auto. I don't think I have this one either, so another great addition!

2009 Signature Stars Glen Perkins auto. I didn't have this one either!

2009 Signature Stars Joe Nathan auto. My first ever Nathan auto!!!!

1983 Fleer Frank Viola. I know I don't have one, and this card is begging me to be signed.... :D

The Kepler turned out really nice!

Yeah I was really happy about it. I have had mixed success with chrome's at TwinsFest with only about 1/2 turning out but right when he handed it back to me I knew it was a good one :)

That's awesome!

So here is what I was up to, today... and tomorrow...

(I know it isn't baseball, but eh... it somewhat has something to do with it).

I went up to the state Class 2A semi-finals for our team. We lost in 4OT. We just couldn't produce the shots that we needed too in the 3rd and 4th OTs...

It was really odd standing in the student section. I am no longer a student at that school, but I know 99% of the kids there because I went there K-10.

Anyway, to the baseball part. Because we are 7 blocks from TF/TC, I am going to try to get to the Majestic Clubhouse tomorrow. I messaged Chris about Perkins Jerseys because we had discussed them around TwinsFest and I didn't know if they still had any. Well, apparently they have a lot... Ranging from a regular home jersey (I believe) to a game used GOPHERS ( :o ) jersey. I hopefully have enough saved up for the cheapest one.

Not really my favorite player, but I find it hard to pass on them when I can get them for only $5 dlvd. Although less fun, it sure beats buying a rack pack and getting base/inserts. This is my 2nd one for Butera, also have 1 Burnett.

Also on a side note....yay for my 1000th post :D

Dink isn't showing up on the Transactions page, so I don't know where he'll end up. Spent most of last year at New Britain, so I'm hoping he'll go to Rochester.

Nishioka is going to be good, but the language barrier is probably going to be the biggest problem. Looked like he and Casilla got something lost in translation last night on a play at second. Last year we couldn't wait for the first Valencia cards to come out, now it'll be the first cards for Nishi!

Dink was in Rochester last year. Just checked and he does show up on roster this year now. So Hughes didn't make the club?

is Nathan set to close? Nishi has no cards yet? anybody gonna stock up on him when they come out.

isn't Herbie signing at that show. If I were in state I'd get him on his rookie card.

These are from 2006 UD Future Stars. They're the only US cards I know he has. I'd love to send it in for a TTM, but does he know what that is?

Anyone heading to the show at the Heritage Center this weekend?

Would love to, but my wife will be out of town, so I'm stuck at home. Would love to get Monte Irvin on an A&G card, but there's no one else autograph-wise I'm really hot for, but they have a nice line up. If anyone can hook me up, I'd appreciate it.

Hughes hit great during the Spring, but struck out a lot and walked twice. Playing everyday in Rochester instead of riding the bench with the big club will be the best thing for him. Hopefully he'll get his shot, he's got skillz!

Wish I could go. I'm actually now working literally right across the parking lot from the Earle Brown Heritage Center. So I might be able to stop by the card shows more often going forward.

We have a show down here that I am going to hit up, so I won't be at the Heritage center.

If anyone sees a common box FULL of '58 Topps, for cheap, and you pick any up, let me know.

I will take a look for you :)

Are you looking for anything in particular, or just stuff in general.

Gardy sez Capps and Nathan will share the closer role--for now. They're still trying to protect Nathan until he shows he's capable of 3-4 days in a row of pitching. Then--what, is it his again, and Capps becomes a set-up man? I think Capps should close and Nathan get his strength back by being the 8th inning man--not closing yet. Once they decide Nathan is 100%, does Capps become trade bait? Will be interesting to watch how this unfolds through the year.
