First W of the year. Where are all you Perkins and Nathan haters now? D Span with a bomb.

You would think that one store who has deals with a bunch of Twins players will get Nishi in for a signing asap. Wonder if he will have a Japanese and American style autos.

:)

He is doing alright IMO, not STELLAR, but at least he doesn't have me shaking my head wondering where I went wrong.

Had a very nice mailday today! It gets more rewarding when I find new Span cards that I need since they are coming harder to come by. Also have 1 more that should hopefully be here by the end of the week that I will post when I receive. Also a shoutout to Greg for the Span/Santana Stamp Card. I really appreciate the help with it as they are always tough to get with the set builders. Thanks again!

Joe Mauer getting any local heat. I hate his contract he got and with all those boatloads cash he milked out of the Twins he better produce big. Way to come up small again in 8th.
Really like this Nishi guy. His cards are going to sell for a lot. With die hard Twins collectors, Japan market. His first cert auto could be big $ out of gate.

Any spring training reports on Nishi. Is he a good IP signer? I hope Topps sneaks him in GQ and Bowman.

Loved that Twins brought back blue alternate style jersey.

I thought you said you didn't want the plate, and you outbid me :(

I didn't even realize that you were the bidder since ebay hides the identity now. I wasn't planning on bidding it and was hoping that it would go unsold and then ran at $0.99. I honestly thought it was too high but I pulled a Posey Gold Refractor out of Platinum and when I noticed a bid was put in on it I figured it would be my only chance to nab it.

So I probably shouldn't collect Denard Span so the three of us don't get into bidding wars? :D

My bad Lally, forgot you collected him too. Seems like Span is probably the most collected current Twin on FCB. Which I find interesting.

Not a prob. I haven't really been buying him since last year. So whatever I have is what I have from last season, nothing really new. He does seem to be real popular w/ collectors though.

While I'm not completely shocked, it is a bit interesting. I just really like him as a player and I thought it would be easier to get as many cards of him rather than someone like Mauer. And adding that his cards are affordable definitely helped my choice. Meeting him in person only made me like him more.

I think a lot of it has to do with the points you mentioned. He's extremely affordable to collect. He's a decent player. And he's a likable nice guy.

I just wish he had more cards to collect that weren't base. I'm not a big base card fan or just plain GU. And besides those and his rookie cards there's really not much out there it seems like. Topps Triple Threads and that's about it.
