I'm hoping to get full tickets for Twins-Fest, since I've got 7 unsigned Twins plates I think today. Cuddy is next Wednesday, I can't remember what time, I think 6:30 or 7:00 though

I gotta start saving for TF. I will start after I pick up a game used bat I have been eyeing.
I'm not sure what I'll do for it, probably just keep picking up plates, so far have Span, Revere, Plouffe, Blackburn, Baker, Slama, Burnett, and maybe one more

I need to save up the dough to get a Perk gamer to get graphed. Then I have to be in Cuddy's line, as well as Knudson and Pettersen's auto line... grrr.... I might try to go on day 2 and 3 to make sure I get everyone graphed.

Can you buy more than one autograph at a time? That would be helpful for some items.

What's going to suck is this upcoming year's haul is going to be HUGE. I will have to locate temporary storage.

Free kids are pretty much unlimited items.
Big dogs like Thome, Morneau, Mauer, Cuddy, are one item per payment, I have seen ZERO exceptions with them.
The multi tables with the like of Perkins, Span, Burnett, etc, if you are lucky and ask nicely and its not too busy, you may get an extra auto of a player, but the rules of the house are one auto per player per time thru the line.

You have to remember too there are guys on this team that will free agents next year, specifically, Kubel, Thome and Cuddy, so if you are saving up for those guys, there is zero guarantee any of them will be back, as much as it pains me to say that about Cuddy. If this team makes a run at the division, Cuddy will be with the team all year long, but if they start to waiver again, the Twins will become sellers by the trade deadline and I am convinced that Cuddy, Kubel, Thome, Capps and Pavano will be the likely canidates to be gone.

Yeah. That totally sucks about Cuddy. I wish he could hang around... I have a ticket stub that I need him to sign REAL bad.

I am not counting on Thome hanging around, and if he did, the lines would be INCREDIBLY long. I got Pavano already, and I can live without Capps, but Cuddy is one I want to meet.

I doubt Perk will hang around for too long either. If he can last until next TwinsFest, I will be happy.

You didn't need to, I only offered $10

Like I said, kinda hard to know.

Are you on Nesheks Board? About six months ago a game used 1b glove of Cuddy was traded away by Pat. Might be able to sniff out some real game used stuff if that interests you. Shaun at FanHQ gets some stuff in his shop too but I have a buddy that works there and he usually snags it up pretty quick. Be fun to meet you at Cuddys signing if you'll be there. I got All Star tix so i'll be in the Pic with him there. -Mike[/quote:2cpi8tko]

Not a member over there, but maybe should be.
IMO, I have the best Cuddy glove out there, its the game 163 first basemans glove, picked it up at FanHQ.
If your buddy is the one that is the Cuddyer fan too, well, he and I had a chat and I got the glove about a day before he was going to have the funds to get it himself, but he did get one of the other 4 that they had around Twinsfest time.
I also have 2 Mothers Day bats (2009 and 2011), 4 jerseys (Miracle, AAA/Rookie year #16, 2007 road and 2010 Jackie Robinson Day), 2 balls (cycle night and one from a game I was at against the Tigers last year that he got a hit with), batting gloves and a batting practice hat. Always looking to add jerseys, havent really decided if I want to add spikes yet.

I will be at the signing with the Pink Bat, so I guess I will be easily noticable. I am also planning on having a ticket signed from his 1,000th hit if my buddy gets it to me intime as promised.[/quote:2cpi8tko]

Wow. That is the nicest Cuddy collection i've heard of! The GU Jersey I want is one with the 3 on the sleeve. I'm sure thats the same guy at FanHQ his name is Chris and he'll be probably sitting next to Cuddy taking items for the signing. I'll say hi at the signing. Grats on that collection though. Very nice.

Same one I want, specifically the vintage cream jersey. Be ready for a battle. If anyone tries to take away something that I want, their wallet will pay dearly.

When is the Cuddy signing at Fan HQ again? Not planning on getting anything signed but it would be a fun chance to get together and have our own "meet and greet."

What time and where you thinking?

Let me know a time and i'll meet up with you guys. I'll be grabbing my unplugged tickets before Cuddy (Valencia, Tolbert, Casilla) then heading over. Then after i'll be going to the Unplugged for some free autos.

Well, I don't think that I can make a Wednesday night affair. Wednesday's are loaded for me this summer with kid's stuff and I play ball in the evening. For me, I'd probably have Cuddy sign an OMLB. I don't have any photos or magazines for him that are "must sign" items. But it sounds like a lot of fun. Guess there'll never be any free signings at the Pro Shops ever again, with Fan HQ handling all the player appearances.

Yeah, but it's a hassle to make it to one. Living as far away from the Cities as I do (and yet so close) really makes popping in for an hour or so a pain. We'll be going as a family to the Twins/Brewers Friday the 1st and staying for the fireworks after the game. Should be a lot of fun since the boys have never been to TF.

Its not really a pop in for an hour type deal. the events usually start from 6-7 and end 1-1.5 hrs later. You have to get in there 1-2 hours early when they start giving away the autograph tickets (usually give away about 100 per event) then sit and wait. When its all over they sign only for those with a ticket. Still with me and my wife we get six free autographs. Some guys do inscriptions and its a cheap way to meet some of your favorite Twins.

Nice plates. The only Twins plate that I have was my first pack pulled 1/1. Lew ford from 05 Topps Gallery I beleive. Otherwise a bunch of other non-Twins I pulled that ended up being sold. Pretty solid plate collection there, keep it going :)

Just a quick question,

How much do you guys spend at TwinsFest, and what (in general) do you purchase? I am going to start putting away for it. I hope to come away with 2 perk game used jerseys (signed) and some PC pickups.

I've spent a little light over the past few years. If you feel like waiting in line for auto's, you can easily spend 200 bucks for multiple tables. Expect to pay a premium for Twins stuff at the dealers tables. Sometimes I get a little annoyed when nobody carries non twins vintage. Anyways, its definitely a fun experience. If its possible, I'd try to save up as much as possible over the next 8 months or so before twinsfest. I think 500 bucks saved and you'll have plenty more then enough to have an unforgetable time. Especially if its your first twinsfest.

Anyways, on what I purchase, I just look for good deals. I prefer vintage, and hope that a couple of the huge missing cards for my puckett PC show up at the event. Last year I didn't spend a penny because I couldn't find anything I didn't need. Some years yield alot, and some not so much. I think table space was limited with the whole metrodome roof collapse and everything, so the selection seemed a little under par compared to the average year.

Just save as much as you can, and enjoy yourself. Hopefully perkins has some GU stuff for you to go after, and hopefully you can pick it up!

If I go I'd probably only do autos an not too much of the dealers, mostly because of the premiums. What would be the chance of making money of buying a bunch of Twins autos/GU to put in a binder and try to walk around and sell them to tables or something?

I have gone 5 times before (personal fun fact, in my first, or second year at the fest, I met Mike Kingery at his stand).

Until last year, I had no focus. Being that it was so cramped, I had to get to the correct stations at the correct time. Thankfully, I nabbed each player I went to get, and then some.

However, I didn't have enough money for what I truely wanted. Sadly, I have a lot of un-expected purchases that will set me back, but I am going to ask for a job at a Fleet and Farm store and work there and save every penny. My goal is 1000 total. That will get me 2 GU jerseys (at last year's prices) and I will have $400 left over which will be plenty for other goodies. Then I am going to work my butt off for my family cleaning, snowblowing, lawn mowing... etc etc. I won't purchase hardly any cards until then as well...

It will all pay off.

I'm not exactly sure as I've never tried doing that before. I'm not sure if doing that without a table is forbidden, accepted, or frowned apon. If its acceptable to do that, I'd go for it. There is a pretty decent premium for Twins stuff there, and from talking with some dealers, they come out pretty good.

I'd definitely buy a table if I were looking to move some PC items, because I've seen buyers jump on way overpriced items in seconds.

For example, I've seen somewhat consistent sales of 85 topps Puckett Rc's for 15-30 bucks a pop. I personally have over 450 85 topps Puckett rc's, but have no intention of moving any. I'm a hoarder of Puckett Rc's, and am still almost at 1K from 83-85.

Getting back to the point, I'd try to get in touch with some experienced dealers/ twinsfest officials, and see if going around with a small collection and not with a table is alright to do.

Well if you can lock down those perk jerseys and still have 400 or so left over, you'll have more then enough for a great time. I hope the dome is fixed by then so that much more realestate is open for the dealers. It should be more exciting next year hopefully.
