Crappy scan they had in auction, does it look like there is a button on the Santana jersey??

$(KGrHqEOKi0E4ndZDvB9BOKMFBddcQ~~0_12.jpg

Kind of looks like a button, but if it were it would take up the entire swatch. so don't think it is.

EDIT: Now that I look at it again, it does look like a small button to me. I don't know, can't really tell with the picture

It's not. It's just a white streak either on the case, or from the pic.

I'm pretty sure its a button. I can even see an x on the inside where it was sewn onto the jersey. Look at the reflection and how it shows off the rounded part of the button and 3 dimentional.

But its hard to tell. I'm leaning towards button, but I could easily be wrong

Why do the Nats not go after Bourn if the Astros are openly looking to move him?

Span is their #1 target because he's under team control until 2015, and I heard that Bourn and Upton are FA after 2012.

Which is why the Twins should be completely unwilling to trade him, 4 more years for around $3 million a year is pretty good for a hard position to find a star at.

But Revere if he can be productive and continue stellar defense, he will be even cheaper to hold onto

Which is why Bill Smith has no idea what he's doing. I can see a trade around Storen + prospects if he believes Revere can take his spot, but the last I heard was the Twins were looking at Storen and Bernadina. Why would Smith trade for a CF if he's trading Span because we have the depth? Makes no sense at all. I really do believe that Bill Smith is just trying to make a trade just to say he made one. This would be 2 years in a row where we trade a very good offensive piece for a reliever. And if we essentially trade Span for Storen then that's giving up on this year because Storen won't even be the closer this year.

There could be something else lined up.

I see span for storen and burnadina, then burnadina and slowey for someone else. That would be what I guess is happening behind the scenes

All I have to say is that if Smith trades Span and doesn't get anything more than Storen + Bernadina he needs to go. Nobody can honestly say that he's made this team better since he took over as GM. He's horrible.

Does anybody know if the Twins lower their prices on Game-Used items for former players? I was planning on buying a Span GU Bat this weekend from TF and then having it signed on my birthday, but if we actually end up trading him then I'm going to wait. I'm pretty sure right now that they run about $250.

Yup. I bought a Kevin Mulvey Game Issued jersey a couple years back off the "departed" rack. I know he wasn't the GREATEST pitcher, or played a ton of games for that matter... but it, and everything on that rack was cheaper than the guys who were current.

I am hoping Perk sticks around for TwinsFest... I am still planning on getting 2 game used jerseys signed by him there... The goal is still $1000 bucks... this job (if I get it) will help me reach it.

With Perkins having this good of a year I don't think there should be too much worry that we'll bring him back. We need all the bullpen we can get and we won't lose him. I just don't know if they do trade him if the price on his GU stuff will drop right away or not. But I guess if he does get traded then I don't necessarily have to get the bat right away since he won't be having his signing..

Last year I think I brought about $350 to TwinsFest and spent about $300. Might bring that much again this year. Will probably do less of the paid signings unless there is something specific that I want.

Besides the signings, did you buy mostly cards or GU stuff? I was going to plan on going to as many signings as I could, but not too much with the dealers

I actually didn't buy any GU stuff there last year. Most of the money went to signings, probably about only $30-$40 on cards, and before I left I picked up a box of 2010 Bowman Chrome for $45. The autograph signings add up pretty quick if you hit quite a few of them.

And if you want to get 2 of a guy it's double the cost of a table? There's a few guys like Slama if I go next year I've got 3 things of, but wouldn't want to pay $30 for him to sign all three if he's at a $10 table.
