I found the other shop (after driving around the block about 3 times :benson
Only bought a pack of Platinum football. He had some cool stuff, but some of it was a little too overpriced. He did have some excellently priced vintage though, so I will be sure to keep that in mind.
I'll be stopping at a shop in Brainerd tomorrow (my all-time favorite shop) before heading home.
The Sports Page had packs? It seems every time I was there he didn't have packs. I wonder if he's changed his outlook any from when I talked to him and he would tell me how no one liked hockey up there (for one example).
All there was for packs was a few boxes of football.
He had a couple Crosby signed 8x10s, but I didn't see anything for hockey besides that.
I've only been to Bemidji once before this (usually Walker is as far north as we get), but I got the impression that it is a hockey town.
There was also not a lot of baseball displayed, and very little Twins. Most of the stuff appeared to be behind the counter and I didn't bother taking a look.
The funny thing about the hockey comment was that I believe it happened both in the Wild's first year and in Crosby's rookie year, two years when hockey was hot. I wouldn't touch any autographs there. Years ago, he had Garnett ones that were obviously bad but he insisted they were good and they had COAs for what they were worth. Other stuff he had he would put in the front window and they would fade as did some of the cards in certain front cases. I'm not sure how he's stayed in business.
Are any of you guys in the Roseville, MN area? I could use some assistance if anyone visits "Three Stars Sportscards"
