Andre Ethier is now second all-time in consecutive hits.
Today, he went 4-4 for the second straight game, after getting 2 hits in his last two at bats two games ago.
So he's now 10 for his last 10.
On Sunday, Ethier has a chance to break the all-time record of 12, set by Walt Dropo in 1952.

Lots of craziness going on in LA. As a Cardinals fan I am worried. I want to say its unfair but sigh ...... its not.
Just unheard of type of trade. Dodgers just showed their hand and its a pretty one.

Maybe he should keep gripping the bat like he has with his ruptured blister....seems to be working out very well for him. I'm rooting for him. :)

Ethier is not streaky....Jay Bruce is streaky. Possibly the epitome of streaky.

I don't know man...is it really called streaky you are "consistently" hot and cold. And this has been your M.O. since the start of time? Wouldn't this be Jay Bruce's norm? LOL

Ethier is definitely streaky - but like Alex said, at the end of the year his stats are good. Ethier can get scorching hot and also can be ice cold as a hitter. Reminds me of Luke Scott in terms of being streaky. He would go 5 for 40 over 10 games and then the next 10 games go 22 for 40 with 8 HR.

I've got a feeling he won't be quite as streaky now that it's not up to him and/or Kemp to carry the lineup.

The Dodgers now have a line up that is going to force pitchers to choose who they are going to challenge, a lot like before. But now they have less batters to choose from. there are going to be pitchers who think they can challenge Kemp, Ramirez or Gonzalez, more that will challenge Ethier, Ellis and the like. It will give him the opportunity to see better pitches. Just my opinion.

It's beautiful watching his swing these past few days...so fluid, such good contact and follow through. And yes it is a lefty going today, but the way Ethier has been hitting lefties lately, anything could happen.

Just because Ethier bats sixth doesn't mean he can't hit! Love the new lineup...this is a great time to be a Dodgers fan.

This is a great time to be a Dodgers fan.
It sure is. Great new ownership. Hanley is happy and always smiling. Gonzales and Beckett are glad to be out of The Boston drama. Kemp and Ethier have awesome protection. Victorino's getting comfortable. The Dodgers finally have a powerful lineup. And Kershaw is dominating again (5-1, 1.80 era in the last month).
I feel bad for Victorino though, since he's a lame duck with Crawford coming back next year. Victorino says his family wants to stay in L.A. because he's close to their home in Vegas and their family in Hawaii. Maybe he can sign with another California team or Seattle.

Its interesting that Victorino's career OPS/OPS+ is almost identical to Crawford's OPS/OPS+.

Ugh, Ethier just struck out looking in his first at bat.
Streak ends at 10 straight hits. Second all-time.
