I know there was an article on the front of the FCB earlier this week but other then that his cards have very little interest. I am just wondering why.

Because what homegrown Cubs pitcher can you name that didn't suck or get hurt after their first (or maybe second, if there were any that lucky) season? Just my thoughts. I do own a couple Sterling autos and I think his stuff is a good buy based on potential sv if he doesn't die before he hits the Cubs rotation.

I actually thought of Maddux right after that post but his great years were spent as a Brave.

If he was packaged for Oswalt, you would see more excitement. Heck, going to the Orioles would help. The Cubs have one of the most unorthodox philosophies when it comes to pitch counts in the minors and in between start routines. There is really never an off day for a Cubs pitcher in the minors.

I think a main part of it was his being a closer his last year at TCU. When his cards started to drop, people didn't know if you would be a reliever or starter....

It's too bad, because the kid is a stud and deserves more attention than he gets.

I think your right. Do we really know right now if he will be a reliever or starter in the Majors? For the number he has put up and his Bowman Sterling Auto's dont even bring $10 blows my mind. Must be a lot of people holding on to him because havent seen many highend cards on ebay lately.

Blue Refractor x2
Orange Refractor

I've been moving this week otherwise I would've picked up more. At the current prices he is a steal.

The cubs announced a few days ago that they won't bring him up to make him a reliever an that they believe he will be a starter an will do anything they can to have him be a starter.

No matter what he will be a sept call-up but i believe 1 injury in the rotation an they bring the guy up in the dog days of june-july-aug. They will atleast bring him up to help the team in trading away a pitcher or 2 for prospects before the deadline.
