Wonder why his stuff is going up. It's going up faster than it was during September and October.

I've noticed the same trend, and honestly can't figure out what the explanation is. I started a new player collection of Cutch a couple months ago, but the cards are already starting to go above what I was hoping to pay.

It could be due to Pirates collectors (yes, they exist) who now only really have a few players to chase with the trades of Bay, LaRoche, Wilson, Sanchez, etc. As a player collector, it's still incredibly frustrating to go from collecting low end guys like Wilson, Warren Morris, etc to a player who sells for decent money.

It could be that many people are saying he could be the best player out of this year's strong rookie class and that is saying something.

Prices often fluctuate in the off-season for no apparent reason. It could be a couple of people holiday shopping, or it could be people looking to load up in the off-season. Most of the time when this happens the prices drop back within a couple of weeks.

Precisely. It's not like people all of a sudden realized on November 29, 2009 at 1136 am that McCutchen had a chance to be a great player. Simple normal market fluctuations during this time of the year.
