Oh man we are screwed Cards are close to a done deal with Peralta. The contract is expected to be massive.
This could either be Mo's biggest hat out of his ass or the worst free agent deal in Cardinals history.

Peralta has driven in 70 runs 5 times, and has some power.Anyone think any of the Diamondbacks' SS are worth trading for?

Yeah, letting Motte throw smoke by batters throughout the playoffs and World Series that year was a huge blunder LaRussa made.If Salas isn't more mentally tougher than that he shouldn't be closing anyway.

Most players would lose confidence, when losing their job for no reason. I didnt say who was better or mention the ws. It was great for motte, I was just saying, salas was never the same. Am i wrong?

Salas was destined to fail because he was overworked(that year). Ever since then he was mentally different.

So Salas faltering in August is " no reason"?That's just not accurate.Hell, Looper lost his closer role to Wainwright in '06, and both were money in the playoffs and thereafter.

Looks like two fan-favorites are being traded. Interesting deal and I am sad to see Bourjos go. That being said, the Angels have a nice selection of speedy outfielders that can produce offensively.

I only know Freese from his world series heroics, but if he bounces back from his down season he will be phenomenally better than any other 3B the Angels have. Looks like good moves for both teams....

I still remember by Dad picking me up from school and telling me that Jim Edmonds got traded to the Cardinals....oh, the memories.

EDIT: In my opinion, quality 3B are hard to come by. The Angels have been struggling with this for years and with Callaspo out of the picture I'm not surprised that management went this route. I think every Angel fan will be happy to see Mark Trumbo as far away from 3B as possible :p
