Halladay becomes the angels go to guy with Lackey. Joe Saunders is a big time scrub, he has lost it completely, no clue what happen as he started out 8-3? It is almost like hes afraid to throw strikes for fearing the will take him yard, he then gets in bad pitchers counts and gets taken yard or walks the entire team in.
sean rodriguez is in no way ready to be a mlb regular...he strikes out once every 3 ab's in AAA
Ok well I am sure the Angels can find a way to fill the hole with someone that can play, don't they have 5 very good outfielders?
Matthews/Vlad/Rivera/Hunter/Bobby
Maybe trade one of these guys or move them around, all i know is Saunders(who should have 5 more losses, but the high power angels offense has bailed him out everytime, gives up around 5-6 runs a game and blows the pen up every time.)
He is in line for a win with this line:
79 PC, 5 INN, 10 HA, 2 BBI, 2 K, 4 ER, 7.200 ERA, 2.400 WHIP
Halladay would protect the angels biggest weakness, THEIR PEN!(Minus your outstanding closer and Oliver).
Aybar is not a top 5 shortstop either...
I'd take guys like Andrus, Jimmy Rollins, Stephen Drew, Theriot, Alexi, Tejeda, Yunel(Hey gilmore look I like yunel sometimes!) tulo and a few others that I can't think off the top of my head, he has a nice glove and good speed but those can be replaced. The angels would be getting one of the top 5 pitchers in the game if not the best.
Vlad is on a downslide and who knows if and when he comes back, matthews is bad...
Aybar has better average (.320) then most those you mention and is on pace to have 8o RBI. so I think this year he would be a top 5 ss.
62 rbis is his pace...
On Pace ANA 474 64 150 5 62 27 13 0.3165 0.3562 0.4262
First half he played less games. only been in 79 games. tulo has played 93 games.
