To anyone thinking of buying these packs, just send me the 170 and I will send you some crap worth half that, with an occasional winner. May start my own company now.

I think this is very very reminiscent of a time long ago.

You have a new company selling autographed memorabilia, some with, some without COAs, and "buyback" cards. These aren't sold through hobby shops, but on a limited access cable show, sold by a straight man and an insane, loud, bearded pitchman who quoted insanely inaccurate price quotes when he is opening the product on air.

Fast forward 25 years. You have a new company selling autographed memorabilia, some with, some without COAs, and "buyback" cards. These aren't sold through hobby shops, but on a limited access webTV show, sold by a straight man and an insane, loud, bearded pitchman who quotes insanely inaccurate values when opening product on air.

Your cast:

Heroes of Sport as Ken Goldin/Score Board

Gelb as "Kenny", the straight man

Blog TV as Shop at Home

and

Boomo as America's #1 pitchman, Don West.

It's really scary, that if you don't remember history, you're doomed to repeat it.

We all know how well Score Board worked out.

Watching Boomo last night this was ALL I could think about, felt like the old days of staying up all night just to watch those clowns. All I know is I would be losing my damn mind if I paid $159 and got the Longoria, Darvish etc..... Just sayin'

The beauty of boomo and his breaks is his honesty. He tells it like it is. You can tell he sold out on this stuff and held back. When he pulled some of those point tickets and bat cards and gem mint base cards ungraded vintage ect... He needed to let loose on how crappy they were as hits. Last case was really bad. Why it's fun watching him break, he doesn't hold back. Good and bad. This break from what I seen he wasn't the usual boomo people expect. I hope he does distance himself from this stuff and goes back doing what he does best. Tell it like it is. Not holding back to push some product out the door. Even though he got a free case breaking this stuff, in the end. He got some of his loyal customers free stuff, but move on boomo and go back to doing your thing.

You aren't going to have too. From what I have heard, Don West was so moved after watching last nights breaks, that he has vowed to make a come back and do some stuff that just doesn't make sense. He stated that his pack price will be 158.

I was watching last night but was forced away from watching by the misses and by the time I got back my slot was already passed. So I just finishing watching the break now and I think I got the 2010 game used ARod bat? If so, thats freakin sweet,

As opposed to buying any other high end product and getting Marlon Byrd, Pagan or any other of the numerous low-end hits in high dollar packs?

+1
From what I saw the only 2 items that would get you more than the $159 buy in were the redemption for the Jackie Robinson auto postcard & the Topps Sterling Babe Ruth card. I would be really pissed off if I pulled one of the high end graded base cards / refractors / game used & ungraded vintage.

EDIT : I forgot about the redemption for the Arod game used bat
If you feel like gambling with your money - go to a casino
If you feel like gambling with your money buying cards - attend a card show and try to work a deal for that vintage/ prospect card that you want

I would buy Five Star over this product any day of the week, and that's saying something because five star was trash. But for $250 less you get 2 extra cards.

I haven't watched many of Boomo's breaks, but he seemed more melo yesterday than normal. IMO that's a sign that he knew this product was trash. I would bet any amount of money that the Jackie Robinson cut auto was the best hit inserted into the product and that's only an $800 item, which is barely more than a box!

There are definitely still more valuable hits other than the Jackie cut. Mike Trout BGS 10 sterling gold ref auto, babe Ruth signed check PSA/DNA to name a couple. At least that's what is advertised on the website. Who knows how many boxes of crap hits there are compared to the good stuff though.

if these were $100/slot, it wouldn't be as painful of a gamble (maybe). At $159, it really stings unless you get one of the few big hits. Especially painful if you get a stupid heroic ticket, which gets you nothing more than a CHANCE to win a prize.

My biggest problem with the product is those raffle cards. Unless everyone who pulls one is guaranteed to win something, then I have a huge issue with it. Now if everyone is guaranteed to win something with those cards, then I don't think it's any worse then other similar types of products.

No argument there, I really don't have a dog in this fight as I do not buy boxes of high-end or cases of anything so there's that. Was just sharing my opinion is all. I am super stoked for the folks who atleast broke even but feel relly bad for those who didn't come close but I will say the former was more the case last night thankfully. I am just as suspicious as the others wondering if they front loaded those cases to start with a "bang".

I'm going to go ahead amend what I said earlier, I definitely don't think I'm going to be purchasing this. There were some insanely bad cards for $160, and the price is only going to go higher (remember that last night was is special introduction price). I'm also really curious as to why there were ungraded vintage cards, I would be very nervous if I was the person that receives the Nolan Ryan rookie card. For $25 more, I will go with the established Leaf and the fact that every card is graded and the manufacturer is very easy to contact.
