Yeah, that whole fleer bankruptcy sale thing may have been good for Fleer execs, but it was horrible for the hobby in general.

stupid question. where is the auto?

When Fleer was in business (before they were sold to UD) they kept duplicates of every card they created. This included auto and jersey cards, except the auto or jersey was excluded. I suppose they kept this for archival purposes or maybe to replace damaged ones. When the company declared bankruptcy, they pretty much stamped all of these vault cards with '1/1' and threw them on the market. Chances are good that if you've ever seen a Fleer 1/1 it's been fake, as fakers don't even have to take out an existing swatch to put something crazy in there.

The jersey swatch and auto aren't inserted, as groat mentioned. Somebody can easily throw in a piece of patch and forge the signature, and this card is marked as being an authentic. It's an empty card Fleer would keep for replacements/redemptions that was just thrown out to the market as is during their bankruptcy sales.

These things are cool for someone who is a player/team collector but as stated earlier when the wrong dipshat gets these and fakes them they are horrible for the hobby.

I am a huge Schaub collector and would never touch one of these.
