So by random luck I was the lucky winner of an Applebees sponsored Magicpapa event where I won this fantastic 1/1 cut auto:

Magic1.jpg

Magic2.jpg

Anyone have any idea on the value? Beckett doesn't have it listed but that's nothing new for Beckett.

Just wanted to thank all involved in the contest, this is truely an amazing card in hand and will forever be a reminder of all that is right in the hobby that I love. Only on a board like FCB would a card like this exist because of the generosity of our very own Magicpapa.

Again thanks for this fantastic prize Magic and please keep enriching our hobby by just being you.

Congrats.

Is it FT?

Thanks, not for trade at this point, this puppy will be in my PC for awhile.

But this card did get me thinking about a new product for a card company that would be marketed to online communities. My thoughts are a baseball or whatever sport set with current and former players and collectors. The collector cards would be inserts of super collectors with their collections or pictured with their heroes or even game use swatches from the players the collector collects. Online communities could vote on who to honor from thier fourms based on their collections or their value to the community. I'd love to see some of the dedicated super collcetors or the truely good people in this hobby honored with their own cards. I mean they could be any worse than scout cards or rip girls.

The guy that makes these does wonderful quality... better than some card companies, granted it's exclusive to YouTubers with 100+ subscribers. I remember in the first release they did have a player collectors set where they had gu from the player, and a relic from the trader

Is there a list somewhere of famous collectors? I know of Olbermann and I suppose Dmitri Young... it'd be kind of cool to see a Fans of the Hobby subset, similar to the old Fans of the Game one.

Didn't mean to derail from the Papa card, but it was a question I had been wondering about for a while.

Phil Hughes, Pat Neshek, Chris Perez, Glen Perkins (lol).

I forgot to say, nice card BTW. I am jealous!

Those cards are made by the guy that does the HITS cards you see on eBay (and uses similar swatches). Yet, the ones for players he swears are authentic game worn.

Never seen them...

I think they are real, he just takes GU from other cards.

I guess I was thinking something like those youtube guys, but being produced by one of the big companies, not just by collectors for collectors. We have many individuals on this board that could create great cards of all of us but getting something of our fellow collectors from Topps would take it to another level. I mean how cool would it be to have Topps produce a card of the Perk collector with a piece of Perk's jersey and your mug on it?

Mr. Papa is awesome

I would agree. I came back to the hobby in 2006 or '07 after giving up on it in the very late '90's. I had been trading live concerts bootlegs with various trading communities, but I had never seen the generosity shown by Magic on the Beckett boards and it has only grown with the transfer to this fantastic board.

+1, I trade very little now most download shows. I love archive.org. I'm into Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper, '60's rock, almost anything Jazz among others. Link to my trade list and I have about 100+ not listed http://db.etree.org/ronnie5260.

What a small internet, I've uploaded and downloaded hundreds of shows on etree.

I'm more of a Grateful Dead/Phish guy. I had a list on etree years ago, but once high speed BT started I stopped updating it.

I assume you live in NoCal? Ever get into Los Lobos? One of the greatest bands out there IMO, wish I lived on the west coast so I could actually see them

Central California, right in the middle of SF and LA. No Los Lobos, downloaded a few shows and they sound fantastic.

pretty cool mix of afro-latin/rock and good old fashioned folk. Love em, and they get a little "jammy"

My brother lives in Truckee, are you near there?

About four hours or so south, Fresno is almost in the center of California, Truckee is more north.
