[quote="card_crazy":3oeialf3]so the fact that he bought a cardinals jersey, a cardinals anniversary patch, a cavs anniversary patch, a lakers anniversary patch, nba logos, all the cards, live in the same state, and all those patches/jerseys made it in to those cards means nothing. WONDERFUL! thanks ::facepalm::
he can try and sue me. and wouldnt win.. that i can promise. and my buddy who is a cop is already investigating him to see if there the same guy. im not worried. not one bit.

I don't think the NBA logos, Cavs, or Lakers patch have anything to do with these cards. Further, it would appear he is a Cardinals' fan and wants to add his own patch. Perhaps he wants to add the Cavs anniversary patch to the NBA Cavs jersey he already owns.

As for the same state, that only lends credence to my story of them being sold in lots locally a few times. Not all sales take place on eBay.

As for whether he would win or not; don't be so sure. Juries and judges do strange things. That being said, there's a strong possibility he IS making these fake cards, so he surely wouldn't want to explain himself and suit would never be brought. Further, you are probably judgment proof, and damages are far too difficult to prove.[/quote:3oeialf3]

no your right.. the cavs, nba logo, and lakers patch have nothing to do with those pujols cards, but if you would look at his other items and see the lebrons and kobes he has sold and currently has up you would understand what im talking about

I am a LCS owner near Philadelphia. I have conversations similar to these DAILY whether its regarding patch faking, shill bidding, canceling sales, people putting astronomical BIN and having them hit, and other major issues in the hobby. Most of the RETAIL customers talk about what happens on the retail end like ebay, etc. While most of you buy from online wax dealers (blowout, atlanta, d&A, etc), consider this---in 08 when topps chrome baseball hit, i sold 5 cases by the box the day it hit at 65/box. My customers LOVED the product, and we all build all the chrome auto sets so it was a big success. If a little wax guy like me can sell 5 cases at a retail price, how was it that blowout was selling the same product at 45/box with a HUGE full page ad in Beckett two weeks later? THE COST FROM TOPPS IS WAY HIGHER THAN THAT AND HE IS NOT DIRECT WITH ANY MANUFACTURER! That being said, SOMEONE is losing BIG money on a product that is out for 2 weeks. While I sell at a retail price across the board I am the same every year on SPA and hot products, as I am on the lower products. The online guys dump the lower/mid end stuff and gauge on the high end stuff. My 2010 bowman jumbos are still $95/box cause thats what they are every year. My point is, this--single cards should be sold like the stock market, wax is something readily available and the wax prices tend to be directly correlated to the singles prices. When wax gets dumped, the singles don't do well. Prices shouldn't be that different as they were in the topps chrome instance.

Way higher direct? I've never seen it way higher when I buy my cases. And what happens when you run out of your $95 boxes of Bowman Jumbos.

You miss my point. Just purchasing the logos doesn't mean he's done it.

Circumstantial evidence.

Just like going to wal-mart, buying a shotgun and shells is circumstantial evidence to the murder of your next door neighbor via shotgun blast, whom you were in a long standing disagreement with. It may be enough to convict.

However, it can be explained away with facts not yet in evidence...

pac---are you direct? Do you own a store? Cause only people with brick and mortar stores are direct. What happens when I run out? All my guys will have gotten what they wanted at what the SRP is. NOT what the price is going to because dealernet or big wax dealers are moving it. I don't store wax. Its the most volatile part of the business and my customers want it as soon as it hits, and then we typically dont rebuy. I buy BIG orders when it first hits and typically a case over what is prebooked. For instance, I do at least 5 cases of elite, but only order 5 cases plus another 10 boxes since they're 20 box cases. I dont want to get stuck when it drops----for every product, like 2010 bowman jumbos that go way high, at LEAST 10 get killed. So why inventory wax? Thanks for the opinion though.

Today I sent the seller this message:

Subject: npfd2001 has sent a question about item #140402980493, ending on May-04-10 16:00:23 PDT - 08 TRIPLE THREADS WALTER PAYTON 3X COLOR PATCH 7/9
Sent Date: Apr-30-10 07:26:55 PDT

Dear misterchops,

How do you live with yourself knowing that you are scamming people. Not that hard to see what you have bought Pujols Threads wise and then ruining the cards by faking the patches. This Payton too. Searching ebay isn't that hard to do. I have links to the three Pujols and the Payton you bought and the patches aren't even close to what you have sold. That is just terrible ripping people off of their hard earned money.

- npfd2001

I got a response shortly there after:

Dear npfd2001,

THESE CARDS CAME DIRECTLY FROM A PACK.BELEIVE ME I WOULDNT HAVE A CLUE AS HOW TO SWITCH THE PATCHES.I DONT BUY CARDS I RIP A LOT.

- misterchops

Hmmmm... thats weird. Same serial numbers on the cards bought, faked and sold. Guess he pulled them. ::facepalm:: :benson: ::facepalm::

Then ask him how he "pulled" cards that have already appeared on ebay with the same serial number and weaker patches.

I replied with this today:

Dear misterchops,

The Pujols Threads patches and the Payton Threads patch you have sold have serial numbers that EXACTLY match those I have found in completed auctions. Same set, same card, same autos and same serial numbers. So I highly doubt you pulled them.

No response to that message.

LEt's say a card is worth $500. Someone lists it for BIN $1500 and they have their friend buy it, but they keep the card. Now they put it in forums, and bring it to shows saying hey, it sold for $1500, I'm desperate and need money, I'll take 900 or 1000. You dont think that happens ALL the time?

For the life of me, I don't know anyone who would fall for it.

Gilmo this happens alot more then you think it is a created market and is happens all the time.

I think of this as shill bidding. The way you described it made it sound like there was something wrong with a high BIN being hit just because the price was high.
