300 wins is REALLY easy to get to. That's why thousands of pitchers have done it. Scratch that, hundreds of pitchers have done it. Scratch that...

The fact remains, no matter how long he pitches, he simply was only slightly better than average. He managed 264 wins in 25 seasons. His ERA is way higher than any HOFer's. He finished in the top 5 in Cy Young voting just once in 25 seasons. Made ONE all-star game. Has a career WHIP of 1.30, gives up more hits than innings, and averages 100 strikeouts a season for a starter. Those are the arguments for him not being in the HOF. His ONLY claim to the HOF is the wins total which is obviously directly related to him pitching for a long time. Since 2003, his yearly ERA's have been 5.21, 4.28, 4.30, 5.01, 3.71, 4.94, 5.03. His career ERA is only going to rise the longer he pitches.

only 15 pitchers with 7 wins or more, Moyer is one of them. Beat the Yankees in their phone booth of a stadium.

I mean, the guy is almost 50! How many pitchers in baseball have 1 complete game not to mention 2? AND in the
national league. Not bad for an old man pitching in the 5 spot!

Its much tougher in the NL, seeing how they dont have a DH... FAIL POST AGAIN.

Yeah the DH makes it so the pitchers doesn't have to go out there and bat and run the bases. They get to rest, it
also makes it hard to throw complete games because late in games managers will want to hit for the pitcher..DUH

do you even watch baseball?

The DH gets hits, most of the time the pitcher strikes out and walks back to the bench, a DH can contribute to many runs, hitting wears down a pitcher, but not as much as an extra power hitter does.

and he should've had posada struck out. the home plate umpire was so inconsistent all game. he would give jamie moyer corners one inning and that tighten up the next.

the posada homer, he had him struck out twice!

that's baseball i guess.

great game by jamie.
