You never can tell. Personally I'd pass. Did Rawlings produce the jerseys when Seaver played for the Sox? Im trying to find a pic of an official jersey.

Same tag? what do u think? This is from a throwback White Sox jersey (Replica). The one on that card does appear "old"

Yes, it is questionable, especially the fact that they have it so well centered.. not rotated or upside down as alot of the patches have been..

I am also not going to bid or make an attempt as I haven't seen any laundry tags in these..

I think that sellers name has come up before as a patchfaker. I also think it's odd that the pic you see in the listings is the back of the card. I would stay away.

Nice find!

Still I'd stay away on this one, if another comes up with the other half then go after that. It is much to perfect also, I'd expect to see a little bit of jersey or have it be placed differently.

I would say fake the number on the Replica has it much closer therefore you should be able to see it in the patch window on the card. Deffinitley a fake.

Additionally, the "bunching" around the top left corner of the card likely indicates that somebody tried in vain to flatten the patch out and sneak it under the corner to no avail. In fact, the whole top of the patch window looks suspect.

Seeing the other patch he has for sale I would assume this one is fake.

It's trash, cut from retail jersey pictures. Not even close to the rawlings tag that is on game used jerseys from that time.

+1 for above, plus Sand Knit made the Sox jerseys when Seaver played for them. That's disappointing for me, as I was buying as many of the Sox Seaver patches that I could. Most were logo patches, but the Sox logo back then wasn't flashy so most people probably thought it was a boring patch. That's now 2 Seaver Sox patches from Ultimate that have gone under the knife.

I have that patch! somewhere.

I bought a bunch of red sox patches and letters and jersey numbers one day to make... something.

I just got super lazy, and they've been sitting in a shadow box for about 2 years now.

If anyone wants a patch faked, I've got you covered.

I bought a 1 colour papelbon for 10 bucks, maybe I'll do it up.
