I tried posting on McFarlane's website but cannot because of some permission BS. I bought the new Derek Jeter Collector's Edition figure and happened to pick up a second one with a variation. I don't know if the second one is a "chase" or a "variant" figure but I can't find any information anywhere. The figure with Jeter holding his hat is the normal version. The seller claimed he found it at a Toy's R Us in St. Louis this way. Its the only one I've ever seen this way. I checked the box itself and it does have all the original tape and it has not been tampered with. With the recent Ruth chase figure, I just wanted to see if I had something really big.

Can't tell you if that is a variant, but I can tell you that shady things go on in St. Louis with regards to McFarlanes. TRU employees are known to cherry pick all variants out of boxes before putting the rest on shelves. Same thing was happening at Target here before they stopped carrying them, even talked to a Target employee about this but he said he is allowed to buy anything he wants that Target stocks, just like any regular customer... :?

On Macfarlane' website go to Info and then contact us and you will get to a contact for where you can send them a question.

there is not a variation or chase figure listed for this Jeter so I would say it is an error or someone somehow tampered with it.

yeah I would try and see if you can tell it was glued on and not made
by the mold method. And it does look like he is missing his thumb LOL

Looks like someone tampered with it. Those box sets can be opened easily and aren't sealed like the normal ones are.

All his fingers are intact. The brim of the hat does have a mark on it as if the fingers were there. It seems to me now that maybe someone did tamper with it. I just don't see were they entered the box. Like I said before, all the original tape is there and uncut. Oh well, I thought I had something special.
