Any MLB SHOWDOWN FOIL experts here?

Can someone enlighten me on the FOIL cards from any Showdown set? I know they have a refractor-ish tint to them.

My question is: were certain cards designated as a FOIL or did every card in the checklist have a FOIL variation?

Only certain ones had foils. Also, there were some that were issued in each starter set, so those weren't as rare.

Of course, anyone that can discredit this, please do. I am no where near an expert.

The only experience I have with MLB Showdown cards is with the 2001 set that had a 1st Edtion and a base set, but I don't know anything about the foils.

1st Edition, foil stamped on the front, small stamp:

Use to play a lot of Showdown years ago.

Only certain top players were foils (Bonds, McGwire, Vlad...)

Every other player who was not a foil were regular base.

Sooooo every Barry Bonds was a foil, while every (insert **** player) was a base card and never had a foil
