Anyone else ready for the Oquendo Era in St. Louis?

I think he's going to be a great manager in MLB, and I hope St. Louis doesn't let him go somewhere else while Don Tony is still at the helm.

I think that he would be a great fit as manager after LaRussa leaves.

I personally would like to see Tony leave after this season, and The Secret Weapon take over managerial duties in 2010.

What do you guys think?

I'm not ready yet, but I'll have no problem with Oquendo as the manager when the time comes if that's the direction they go. I hope they go that way by the way.

I will admit that I have been hard on Jose in the past due to his seemingly windmill like arms while coaching third base, but he has been much better at that lately. Even seen him hold up a few baserunners last year, which is rare, lol.

And Tony picked the number 10 because he wanted to bring St. Louis their 10th World Series title, and he did.

So Oquendo wears the number 11, so he can lead us to the promise land for World Series number 11!

He better change it to 12, because this year we're winning it all. 8-)

I think it's always been a matter of time before Jose takes over for Tony. I think he'll do great. Always amazing how it's the utility guys and catchers who make up the majority of managers in the majors.

Or people who didn't amount to jack squat as a player like LaRussa. One of the greatest managers of all time, but sucked donkeys as a player from what I hear.
