2 of my guys got it in today.

I have seen the pic of the ultimate box and it says not Authorized by MLB and its member teams.
See, now I don't understand that since technically this is still a 2009 product.

Who cares about the pictures of the box, lets see some pictures of the cards.

I do, now we know this will be the 1st set with air bushing.

Valid.

I guess the question is how bad will it look with airbrushing or can they hide it? That answer lies inside the box.

Looks like he hit some nice cards for only 4 boxes.

Don't know how I feel about the design w/o seeing more hits.

I def. liked the jumbos better last year though.

Care to elaborate?

If they plan on going under they might not care about the possibility of a lawsuit.

If Ud is not supposed to show any MLB logos in their 2010 products, and they do it on purpose, aren't they doing something they are not supposed to do? They've got a big lawsuit from Konami already, their high end autographed memoribilia sales are in the dumper, the Tiger thing isn't helping, and won't they get in trouble with MLB for selling items depicting their designs? Like someone else mentioned, another law suit, and guess what's last on their priority list- redemptions. We've already paid for the cards, what incentive do they have left to fulfill any of them?

UD is starting to follow the way of Fleer- if you start seeing a whole lot of high end auto redemptioins in their upcoming products, I would be very concerned- this is how Fleer went out.....

Doesn't UD own the football and hockey card market? I am very surprised by their actions, unless this is a 2009 product.

This has NOTHING in common with how Fleer went out. Fleer was doing, from the face of things, well -- and didn't have a tremendous amount more redemptons than any other company (UD has ALWAYS had redemptions); Fleer went bankrupt.

If anything, this smacks, beautifully, of the Donruss situation. While I have no inside information, I am sure that Donruss had a one year market plan - line up a deal with Panini, then run the presses on a ton of cards using the MLB logos that they don't have the rights and didn't pay the licensing to use. Keep running them and manufacturing products until a lawsuit is filed and a TRO is filed. Once those are filed, ink the contract to sell assets (name, printing materials, jersey inventory, goodwill, and most importantly, any and all trademarks and copyrights) to Panini, leaving Donruss a shell company with absolutely no assets and all of the liabilities.

I don't see UD doing that due to the fact that they have footholds in other sports lines. This has to be a 2009 product.
