Probably useless to ask here since I've spoken to most of most knowledgable hockey collectors on the planet, but what the hell..
Does anyone have any guesstimates as to how rare the 1955 Quaker Oats set is?
My personal opinion is that a complete set doesn't even exist, and there are only 8-20 of each card in circulation. I've been searching on eBay since 2003 and at most I've seen up to 4-5 unique (read: not relisted over and over) examples of the same player. Also been scouring major auction houses and nothing. Most cards I've seen one or two of, and many 0.
I'm about to buy the Plante PSA 5 rookie on eBay. That will put me up to 14 different cards in the set
