I was picking up Knapp autos for a while, but it's nearly impossible to find any new information on him and how healthy he'll be starting the season. He seems like he could be a strikeout machine, and he put up some pretty good AZL numbers, but I worry about his shoulder problems. Anyone know anything about him?

Thanks

I was buying him initially but it is looking like he is going to end up in the bullpen so I've stopped.

He came back after shoulder surgery and struck out 29 in 16 innings in single A. If he stays healthy, he'll be an uber-bargain.

Considering he's selling for dirt cheap, I'm pretty sure he's a bargain. Flame throwers end up getting a few different hype weeks during their minor league career. Knapp doesn't have to be good or stay healthy. He just has to get hot for a week or two. Last year's performance almost tripled his card values.

This is true, but I'd really like to see him stay healthy. I think he has the talent to be a top-tier prospect, but the injury stuff will scare off a lot of people. In the AZL this fall he had 18 k's vs 4 BB's in just 12 IP, with just 5 hits. That's a 13.5 K/9, which is pretty good no matter what league you're pitching in. I think he has the talent to be a starter, but seeing his autos go for <$5 shipped made me think there was some information out there scaring people off that I wasn't aware of. Anyone know how fast he was throwing in Arizona?

IF he was still in Philly's system, it'd be a different story with higher prices possible. Being in Cleveland certainly won't help.

And I'd give him another year to prove the arm is stable.

I think for the price he is one of the best buys out there. I have of 3 the reds, 2 golds, 8 blues, 3 xrefs and 7 base chrome autos along with 8 elite, 2 sterling gold, 2 sterling refs and 14 base sterling autos. I have gotten all of it at incredibly cheap prices. Hopfully he does well but I just need a couple good starts in order move everything.
