Anyone deal with Topps Customer Service recently?

I got a huge hit out of 2011 Bowman Chrome this evening (Matt Moore auto 1/5...one recently sold on ebay for 1600)...but bad luck, it has a crease on the back of the card.

Anyone have any recent experience with Topps Customer Service and give me an idea what to expect?

Barry instead of picking up the phone you are better off slamming your junk in the door.It will be less painful than the phone call.You have had some bad luck lately buddy.Nice pull though.Did it come from Figs?

No, I was in Target and just thought Id get a blaster for 10 minutes of entertainment. I knew it was a good hit...then saw the one that ended on ebay...then the dreaded crease on the back DOH!

Sorry Mike, I really didnt want to slam my junk in the door so I chose door #2 LOL...I thought I should at least try to call..

Well, I just got off the phone with Topps and though I understand their policy, I dont like it.

Here is what I was told....Topps are not the ones who value the card because they say it is a conflict of interest. They use a third party to put a value on the card (a Beckett rep). If they cant repair the card (rep said there have been instances where they have repaired 1/1's, 1/5's, and other very rare cards) but if they cant repair it, they will replace it with "equal value". I have to say, his voice did NOT sound confident that they were going to be able to make me happy based on that 1600.00 ebay sale. So basically, I could end up with 100.00 of "equal value" if that is what Beckett deems the value. Do I trust Beckett? No way! LOL

I think my best course of action is to put the card up for sale on ebay, offer to include the blaster, packs, and receipt with the card. I will put up some very detailed scans. From there, I will just have to hope for the best!

Edit: I just checked your bucket; I don't think the crease should deter too many potential buyers.

If anyone is interested....grade results are in....a whopping BGS 3.5 LOL....it is what it is. At least now I am protected from someone trying to screw me on a SNAD claim. I'll put it on ebay with a high BIN with best offer and just see what kind of offers come in.

Well, got the card back today...I will hopefully have it up on ebay in the next couple of days unless someone makes an offer I cant refuse LOL...but dont ask me how much I will take...make your offer!
