David Garrad and his 15td's and 10ints

I am a NYG fan but 3 of their 5 O-line were not pro bowlers this year. Diehl was brutal.

Kerry Collins and Vince Young LOL

I know some of these guys are SB replacements but these guys just did not have pro bowl seasons.

The pro bowl has been a joke since the early 90's. They should do like baseball and have it at the midpoint of the season rather than the end of it. These players just want to go on with their lives and start their vacations, and I don't blame them.

With it being in Miami rather than Hawaii, players don't even eant to go and are pulling out citing "injury"

It has always been a joke. Why risk injury playing a useless exhibition game? They would be nuts to do it during the season, why get injured for nothing?

This is my deal with it this year. It's a worthless game, and this year it falls BEFORE the super bowl. If I were playing in the super bowl I sure wouldn't want to risk an injury by playing a stupid game beforehand.

Some of the replacements announced yesterday are just awful. Why not replace the Pro Bowl with an all-rookie game?

Pretty sure no players in the super bowl are playing.

The Pro Bowl has always been a joke.

Just make it an award and move on.

It's a serious team sport where people truly have to work together, and yet this team doesn't practice. It's also a sport where injury is common, so why in the world make it an actual game?

If the NFL were smart, they'd just call it a day w/ the All-Pro teams and then do everyone's favourite part of any All-Star weekend: THE SKILLS COMPETITION!

Ever want to see Chris Johnson race 4 other guys? Fastest Skater is one of the best Hockey ones.
Ever want to see Leonard Davis and Haloti Ngata bench press a truck?
Want to see who can throw a ball farther? or with more accuracy?
Want to see if a fieldgoal kicker can hit a 70 yarder with 500K on the line?

Get some corporate sponsors to throw down a million each for the "Nike Fastest Man in Football" or the Degree "Strength Challenge"

Have a celebrity flag-football match..

and an All-Pro Basketball game with Owens and Gates, etc etc.

Do it up a day or two before the Superbowl so that you get the celebs and players in the crowd.

and call it a day.

Good ideas.

As an NHL fan, the All-Star itself and it's countless goals scored is far less interesting than the skills competitions.

The Pro Bowl is to an NFL game as Michelob Ultra is to Beer.

Its a watered down 64 calorie gathering of non-all-star players.

I hope their ratings plummet this year and next year they play the game AFTER the Super Bowl like it should be. I think it is cool that they are having it in the continental US so fans don't have to travel as far. If they keep it this way, it would be nice if it traveled around...not just following where the SB is being played. I know when Indy hosts the SB and if the Pro Bowl is here, I will go for sure...just to try to get some IP autos of course. The game has always and will always suck. Remember Brees getting his arm busted??

Not sure where you got Kerry Collins in your first post jc.

Vince Young deserves a replacement spot in my opinion. I'm normally against players sitting out....but can you blame the Colts/Saints players? Why risk a freak injury a week before the Super Bowl?

No clue why the geniuses in the NFL moved it like they did anyway. I kind of think it should be halfway through the year like it is in most sports, but you have a great risk of injury in the NFL.

True, but the NHL is a tough league and they have their all star game mid-season.
