I was thinking about buying some and was curious to hear thoughts on condition if you have them in hand.

Thanks!

One beckham AU for me

Some printing dimples evident on the card, centering looks good, but surface would take a hit

overall, a very aesthetic card, if they can fix the printing problems next year it'll be a great set

I got one beckham base

it has a minor dimple to the left of the picture

other than that, its pretty dang good. I love the thick card stock they used.

The poor quality of the five blue metal Hosmer cards I won was enough to stop me from bidding on any future Razor auctions.

The consensus is that the autos are in noticably better shape than the base cards, so I wouldn't make any rash decisions if I were you.

I'm glad to hear that for those who are chasing the autographs but it still doesn't change my mind. The quality control on the metal blue/gold cards was crap and I don't feel like rolling the dice again. I'll spend my money some place else......

That's what I've heard as well and am why I am considering buying. I initially had a very negative reaction to what I heard about the base metal cards but from what I understand they are trying to get this condition thing right.

I am curious to know what everyones thoughts were about the Base Autos.... Alot of members are purchasing the Parallel Autos but its taking awhile to sell the Base Autos out. Anyone see this as being a problem for the secondary market because the interest in the Base autos isn't that great

It's a flood of the market, there just isn't enough demand. It would happen with any card being mass listed.

Got a base Beckham and Inoa...the Inoa looks great but it appears Beckham flunked kindergarden and forgot how to 'stay within the lines'. The top half of the autograph is out of the box.

So far it has resulted in the opening bid of the other bases at $4-$5. Not sure if this was the original plan but we will see how many sell now

Just noticed this on the Smoak listing:

These cards are VERY condition sensitive. WE GUARANTEE ALL CARDS TO NRMT/MT OR BETTER. WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT RETURNS OF CARDS NOT DEEMED BY PSA OR BGS AS 8.0 OR BETTER (card must be graded lower for return, we do not compensate any grading fees).

That may be a little sneaky, but I may start putting that in my listings. Lately I have had waayy too many people complain that their card was not gem mint, when I listed it as nm-mint in the description.

That's what he's trying to do, set some sort of standard, rather than have everyone complain.

Thanks for the feedback all, more good things to say than bad for sure!

I picked up 5 Beckham Base Autos and I'm unhappy with all 5. I received some rough Blue Metal cards and decided to try a few Autos. The surface are acceptable, but the edges are so bad that the dimples just make the problem even worse. Needless to say, that the Metal cards I bought (over 100 total) may be my last Razor purchase. For a card distributed and sold for the amount that they are being sold for the QC should be much better. IMO

I had several emails back-and-forth with Brian and he refunded my money on several of the non-AU Blues. I'd say 2/3 of the base chrome, Blues and Golds I ordered were at or below 8.0. My Beckham AU, however, was pretty nice - http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr16 ... eckham.jpg. Outside of a couple of surface zits, it's in good shape. The scratches are from my scanner.

That said, I'm staying away until the QA issues get resolved.

Rob - thanks for recommending FCB!
